Kindness begets kindness. So, wanted to create a space to share and amplify stories of kindness with the hope that it inspires a chain reaction.

Kindness is one of the biggest values in my life, because I recognize how transformative it has been for me after years of being mercilessly bullied and misunderstood in childhood. In my speaking assemblies, I discuss the sheer power of kindness and how it overwhelmingly fuels my quality of life, in hopes that others can resonate. I’m tremendously lucky to be no stranger to kindness these days, but there is a moment from my experience on American Idol that really stands out to me that I will never forget it for as long as I live. I love this question because there are some amazing people in my life that truly love me for me and just want to see me win. There are a lot of people on the world who can love you, but only a few was chosen for you and it shows. The kindest thing someone has ever done for me was invest in my business and things I love. The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was make me find my creative side within. Before, I always had this knack for finding myself in creative spaces. I constantly had my hands dabble in various creative avenues such as music, photography, podcasting, directing, you name it. The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me happened during grad school, at a time when my life was turned upside down. One day when I was working at the salon a woman walked in wanting to make an appointment for that Saturday. I was already fully booked but offered to come in early on Saturday to accommodate her request. She was very appreciative and made the appointment. A few days later when coming into work I noticed someone had slid an envelope under my salon door. It was a card from the woman letting me know that she had to cancel the appointment, and how appreciative she was that I had offered to come in early for her. She also included a Dunkin Donuts gift card. I was blown away! For someone to be so thoughtful and write me such kind words. And on top of that give me a gift card! There really are still good people out there. Read more>>

I think that the kindest thing that has ever been done for us is all the support our friends have given us. Ever since we started the journey of being DJ’s our friends have asked us to play at events they have thrown, purchased our DJ Dholak T shirts, interacted with our social media content and support us at our gigs. If it wasn’t for all of the support of our friends and the people who enjoy our DJing we wouldn’t have gotten as many opportunities as we have. They truly make us better. Read more>>
