Kindness begets kindness. So, wanted to create a space to share and amplify stories of kindness with the hope that it inspires a chain reaction.

I feel like the kindest thing someone has done for me in this business is support me and the new products I come up with. I try to keep my business very personal – my business is named after my grandmother, Evelyn James. I name all of my dresses after my best friends and their daughters, I have my daughter and my best friends daughters in all of our photo shoots so I try to keep everything very personal which I feel like makes it very special. My friends and customers have been absolutely supportive and constantly make my heart happy when they help market my products. I think the kindest thing we can do as women is support each other and have each others back, I try to do the same for friends and vendors alike. Read more>>

The kindest thing anyone has done for me is give me a gift on what would have been my son’s 2nd birthday. They gave me TY baby that has the same birthday as my son, Derrick. The bear is holding a flower pot that says “thinking of you.” I often wonder if my son thinks of me as often as I think of him, and that gift assured me that he does. Read more>>

One of the kindest things done for me stemmed from the CEO of my firm. During July 2023, I became seriously ill and my road to recovery was unknown. And within days of getting sick he reached out to me and said “take all the time you need” and we are all here to support you. This was impactful as I am responsible for the Los Angeles office of Withum with 50 employees. First and foremost, it gave my family the peace of mind that I could focus on my health and recovery. But from a human standpoint, it meant a lot that my “work family” was still family. And that we cared for one another both inside and outside of the office. Read more>>

I don´t know if its possible to name the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me. I have been shown kindness in ways my heart can only smile and grow bigger from. Since this story is about my music, what comes to mind is the incredible kindness my friends , who also happened to be monster musicians, showed me throughout the years. Without that, I would not have been able to be where I am now. The time they gave, the inspiration, the believing in me, and the happy times that just made all the struggles around this music life worth it. We are all struggling, and so to be given precious time and support by someone in the same boat, is honorable, and has surely kept me going in times when I might have otherwise given up. Read more>>

I personally think when people take the time out of their day to show kindness to others is such a beautiful thing. I received a message when I was starting out in music and it said that my music helped them through the toughest of times and they said thank you for making music. The message brought me to tears because that is how I felt and still feel about my favorite artists and why I make and listen to music. Read more>>

One of the kindest things anyone has ever done for me as a fashion designer was when several models, who had previously worn my designs, went out of their way to recommend my work to top fashion show producers. Without any prompting, they spoke highly of my unique creations, showcasing not just my craftsmanship but the passion and care I pour into each piece. Their advocacy led to my designs being featured in prominent fashion shows, where they graced the runway to widespread acclaim. It was a humbling moment, knowing that their trust and belief in my vision helped open doors that elevated my career to new heights. Read more>>
