Kindness begets kindness. So, wanted to create a space to share and amplify stories of kindness with the hope that it inspires a chain reaction.

Through out my childhood and adulthood my friends and family have have always done nice things for me, as I did for them. I cant really boil everything down to “one thing” but i can say that my mind was always challenged by them in very positive ways. The kindest thing everyone has in one way or the other, has told me was that “I can become anything, but make sure I am the best at it.”. From there I focused on my interest which were Fine Arts, Illustration, Photography and Cinema. Read more>>

I must said that I am a very luck person,my parents love me unreservedly, and I have many very good friends around me,and I have many sweet friends around me. This time the first thing that came to my mind was the help that one of my best friends had given me. He is one of my best friends. We have known each other for more than 10 years. He has always encouraged me in my daily life. When I felt confused as an artist, he often told me that he thought I was smart and talented and that I needed to wait for my chance quietly without anxiety or too much eagerness. Read more>>

Honestly, I have been fortunate to have received incredible generosity several times. A particular experience that stands out was when I was living in Austin, TX in 2019 as a full-time musician. It’s a gigging town, so that’s what I did a lot of. I often performed at farmers’ markets (even in the blistering 100+ degrees), and while I did enjoy bringing music to the people and watching kids dance and have fun, there were times that these kind of gigs felt unfulfilling. Especially as a solo artist, it’s easy to get in your head and let self-doubt creep in. Doing gigs for money, like ones where you have to play a lot of cover songs, can feel like it’s getting in the way of your artistic path. I was going through a difficult time with all of this. I’ve always wanted to be in the performing arts since I was very young but it is not a traditional path. So, I believe the kindest thing anyone has done for me was to keep believing in my dream and speaking life into me when I didn’t believe in myself. That belief gave me encouragement to keep striving. I remember arriving to set my first day and having imposter syndrome because I was surrounded with the likes of Sarah Paulson, Cuba Gooding Jr. John Travolta, Sterling K. Brown and more. I walked onto set, said hello to the crew, was told where we would be waiting behind the scenes until it was time to shoot and I parted some curtains. All of the stars I’d watched on television growing up were sitting down studying or talking etc. As soon as I saw who was in there I tried to back out to catch my breathe and find somewhere else to wait. I turned around and Courtney B. Vance was there. He gently turned me back around and pushed me into the room…..he knew exactly what I was feeling. To me it was an absolutely profound thing a veteran actor could do. He cured any imposter syndrome I would have ever had moving forward. Read more>>

Transitioning into the realm of design from a background rooted in mass communication was anything but straightforward. Shifting from my undergraduate studies in mass communication to the specialized realm of design during my graduate years presented an imposing learning curve. The intricate nature of design tools, combined with my fledgling grasp of fundamental design principles, often overwhelmed me. Read more>>

Back when I started in UHD, the immense love and support I received was incredible. People really made feel like they believe in me, and gave me gifts. I received GRE books, coffee mugs, dedication posts and jump ropes. Each of this people made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Read more>>

This is a remarkably difficult question to answer because I’ve been the recipient of more acts of goodwill than any person deserves. One stands out because I cannot pay the man back, or have the last word. Frank Armstrong Green, founder/director of The Bard Society in Jacksonville, Florida declared me “an undiscovered talent” based on an unsanctioned peek at my personal journal. He asked me get us some coffee–which I was happy to do–but the errand was a ruse. He just wanted me out of the room. He’d heard me read from my notebook in his critique group, and he had decided I wasn’t sharing the best bits. Read more>>

The kindest gesture I’ve ever received was someone GIVING ME A CHANCE! For me, money will come and I’m not obsessed with likes, so all I really need is a CHANCE! A chance to prove myself, a chance to showcase my skills, a chance to show why I feel like I am the best person for the job! Read more>>

I started my career in bridal, as an assistant, while I was 16-18 and in high school. I learned SO much from Shelly and her team, and, in hindsight, would be dishonest in saying that I fully grasped everything I was truly learning at the time. Working primarily weekends and being part of someone’s special day always felt like exactly what I wanted to do, until I started building my own hair business. I had little understanding of the word “niche” or truly running a business professionally and what that truly means in the industry. I was working 7-10 days in a row, sometimes until midnight, doing traditional hair services in my salon, and taking weddings on the weekends. Read more>>

Starting out is usually never easy, that may being starting a new trade, a new hobby, a new routine. whatever that case is, it usually requires lots of patience, determination, perseverance and more importantly in my personal experience, resilience. When I first started my career as a hairstylist I underwent a rigorous training program as an assistant with several people. I was fortunate enough to eventually find an amazing mentor who showed me the path and took me under his wing and I know what I know today because of him. He was respectful, kind and invested in my training and growth but unfortunately not everyone that I assisted treated me like that. Read more>>

I chose this question because it made me feel so relieved and happy to focus on this. What a great question. My answer is a short story that happens over and over again. Working as a touring musician there are so many hats to wear going in so many different directions. Sometimes the work, the road, and the “to do” list can be unrelenting. When someone pauses and takes the time to tell me how the music has helped them or gotten them through something it eases any feeling of effort. The same goes for when someone reaches out to help me do a task I am learning and they know well. Again a lightening of any burden. When someone softens and forgives a mishap or a mistake, all of these add up and make the journey of being an artist lighter and I carry on with a lighter step and a smile. Read more>>

Wow this is such a great question! I’ve been reflecting lately and thinking of all the kind people I have encountered throughout my life, being given the blessing to share this with you fits so well with the season I am currently in with my career. The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was picking up the phone and listening with pure intent. The intention to understand and just quietly listen while I explain my thoughts and feelings as a human being. This simple act of kindness has left such a profound impression on my view on life, and the way I have learned to listen and understand others without interrupting or fixing their matters of the heart. I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful family and friends in my lifetime. I’ve experienced many kind things. I don’t want to disregard anyone . Today I’d like to mention my friend Candy who was unbelievable during the saddest episode of my life. After my mothers passing in France, I came back to Pennsylvania and I had literally shut down. Candy would come see me everyday for almost 2 years, just to comfort me. I was in a dark emotional hole, I had “given up” and little by little with her kindness and support “, she pulled me out. I was able to let go and rebuild myself emotionally. Read more>>
