Kindness begets kindness. So, wanted to create a space to share and amplify stories of kindness with the hope that it inspires a chain reaction.

The kindest act anyone has ever done for me was to give me an opportunity to take a step in the right direction on my career path. Without someone taking a chance on me, I would not be where I am today. It all began in the spring of 2019 when I landed my first and only internship with BODYARMOR Sports Drink. At the time, I was in Arizona, spending a week with a friend, when I unexpectedly met Michael Fedele, the VP of Marketing. Read more>>

I think the kindest thing that anyone has ever done for me are the things I won’t even know about until I’m dead. The secret admirers who have your back behind your back, the people who fight for you without you even knowing it. Those are the kindest people on Earth. I think it’s the people who do things for you without expecting anything in return that mean the most to me, and most often for me that has been through strangers. It’s the little things! Read more>>

I grew up not knowing who my father was/is. I was raised by my Grandfather who died during my first year in junior high school. Life became increasingly worse for me. I lived on the streets, served as a housemaid, and did many things in order to survive. It was around 2001 when I had completed junior high school but had no one to help pay for my tuition for senior high school admission. Read more>>

Man this one always makes me tear up…..When I became pregnant with my son it was the shock of a lifetime! His dad and I did not work out romantically very early on, but he’s stayed a wonderfully solid fixture in our sons life. After we parted ways I was struggling significantly mentally and financially. I wasn’t able to work the 12-14 hours days anymore like I was used to to make ends meet, and was suffering from what I now understand was postpartum depression. Read more>>

The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was to give me a chance. Growing up in the South as an openly gay singer wasn’t easy, and I heard more “no’s” than “yes’s.” When I was 19, I was told NOT to release my first song “Coming out,” because it was “too polarizing,” “too gay.” I released it anyway, and the rest has been history. I was feeling so down before the release, and I was sitting at a coffee shop in my hometown of charleston, and a random lady walked up to me and complimented the shirt I was wearing, and told me she liked my purple hair. In 1998, shy of my graduation from High School, I was spending the day with a friend at his home. We enjoyed a beautiful day on the lake fishing, followed by an evening of listening to music and visiting. I was so excited to share an album that was just released by two classmates, Brian Miller and Eric Carlson, called ‘Friday’. I’m still inspired by this album. Read more>>

I woke up from a vivid dream, sleeping in the same twin bunk bed that I slept in with my big sister Shonette M. Anderson. This was in December 2019, I moved back to my hometown Dallas, Tx to get some R&R. before leaving for China to teach English in September 2019. The other purpose of the trip to Dallas was to love on my family and friends before I left for my Chinese adventure. Read more>>

I had just gone through a break-up and was crying in my room feeling very alone. My neighbor Violet, whom I had never met, came over to my house and left a care package on my doorstep with a very sweet note saying she hoped I felt better. She gave me a book in addition to some adorable feel-good odds and ends. This really moved me and reminded me to go out of my way to be kind and that the power to make someone’s day better is so meaningful. Be the light. Love thy neighbor. Read more>>

There came a time in my career with the counseling through the usage of throwing the bones and reading the cards that I stumbled upon a client I’ve come to love. I was working in the shop and had several appointments pushed back to back during the winter months of this past year(2022) when this particular client had come in for a reading and to purchase some spiritual products from the shop I currently read in. This client didn’t appear to be someone I could metaphorically “crack”. Read more>>

Four years ago my longtime partner was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and given under 2 years to live. The shock that came with the diagnosis was immeasurable. It was a before and after moment. I had walked into the doctor’s office one person and left an entirely different one. Everything had changed. Read more>>
