I am a therapist in private practice, specializing in working with anxiety. This is something I tell all of the people I work with: All emotions are messengers trying to tell you something about what you need. Our emotions and needs go hand-in-hand. When we are experiencing difficult or painful emotions, they usually point to an unmet need. When we’re experiencing pleasant or happy emotions, they are telling us something about what meets our needs. Read more>>

The best advice I have ever given a client is “remind yourself of the difference between what is dangerous and what is difficult”. As a therapist I say this to client’s almost daily. Often clients with anxiety, depression, issues with perfectionism or procrastination send mixed signals to themselves about this. They respond intensely to “everything around them” because they have convinced their minds and physical bodies that everything is dangerous. I interact with a variety of individuals that have such different backgrounds and interests in vegan living. No two people are on the same path with their interest and knowledge of a vegan lifestyle. I enjoy providing resources, education, and support from everyone that comes to plantbasedgrocery.com or reaches out personally. As a 9 year vegan and current student of personal training, I offer a lot of advice in a wide range of topics from health, wellness, fitness, environment, sustainability and more, all from a plant based perspective. Honestly, there is not a single sliver of summarizing, extraordinary advice I have given my clients other than the general approach I carry in my work: empowerment. I am not here to be bossy, pretend to be an expert on someone else’s life, or explicitly tell someone they need to “fix” themselves. No one is broken; everyone is human. What I truly give my clients is the freedom and permission to be their own hero, parent, boss, partner, cheerleader- you name it. I am a shepherd; Read more>>

As a fitness professional, people usually seek out my help to make a drastic change in their lives. For the most part, it’s only when people wish to “overhaul” their health and fitness that they invest in professional help. That initial motivation and inspiration can be an incredible catalyst for change, but the reality is that it doesn’t last. “Perfect” routines are not bulletproof to the unexpected demands of life. So when my clients inevitably reach that crossroad where it becomes clear that their current fitness routine is going to be difficult to sustain, Read more>>
