There’s no one-size-fits-all advice….but I find that the “best” advice that I can give someone in the new parent space is to not give up on a hard day. Because *ooof* there are hard days. I had a client who struggled with painful cystic acne for years. She’d seen dermatologist and other skincare specialists, but never saw improvement— in fact, her skin got worse. When she found me she was desperate for a solution. After getting to know her history, it was clear that there was more to the picture. I got specific and asked her targeted questions that led me to the belief that she may have PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). The best advice I have given a client is to practice self-care. I believe it’s the one thing that seems to make the most difference in someone’s life. Self-care means doing what’s good for us- would be getting enough sleep, heating healthy food, drinking enough water daily, taking a warm bath, reading, going for a run, etc. Whatever makes you feel better and feels kind to you is helpful to improve your mental health.
