I had a client that came to me with the goal to gain confidence and change the way she held friendships, as she felt overworked and underloved. We went through a few sessions where she shared her frustrations with how she didn’t feel appreciated in her friendships and the struggle of feeling alone even though she was surrounded by a community. Too many of us live on auto-pilot and never learned how to enjoy our food, make peace with our body, or understand the symptoms we experience and how they’re influenced by what we’re eating. When we desire to lose weight, balance hormones, or reduce bloating we can get fixated on following a specific protocol or dietary trend instead of learning the power of food and how to eat. One thing I make sure I tell ALL my clients is “Your journey is not their journey”. It may seem pretty simple, but most people don’t truly let that resonate. It’s very easy to get caught up in someone else’s fitness journey and then become impatient with your own, but we are all unique. Just because it worked for one person doesn’t mean it will work for you. Social media makes it hard when you are constantly bombarded with everyone’s successes, naturally we start to compare ourselves. One of the best advice I received was to not think I wasn’t qualified to help others because of my personal healing process. In 2019 I discovered I had fibroids after having a miscarriage.
