As a writer, I believe it’s paramount to read great writing to learn how it’s done, then follow my own vision and process, and allow myself to write the stories that speak to me. What I learned long ago is that, my approach is the wrong approach. That people care about your work. That your work matters. We all want to create something that resonates throughout all of history. But for 99% that live through the zero attention span, doom scrolling afflicted culture of the present… we simply will not. I am a wedding photographer as well as a landscape and wildlife photographer, so I know that my wedding photos will hopefully have a direct resonance with a small group of people such as the couple and or their friends and family. But in terms of landscape and wildlife photography, people scroll past hundreds of beautiful images each day without giving them a second thought. If thousands of painters during the Renaissance painted a variation of The Mona Lisa, it wouldn’t be hanging in The Louvre. Read more>>
