Legacies help us with our goals after we’ve passed because they have the power to inspire action and the give our ideals an chance to live on through others. Given the magical potential of legacies, we wanted to support and foster conversations around legacy building and below you’ll find some of those conversations.

The legacy I hope to build is an appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and the people in it. When I am gone I think people will say she was kind. I hope to be remembered as a humanist – “curiosity, a free mind, belief in good taste, and belief in the human race.” I hope when people look at my art in the future, they will remember how important nature is to the human race. We need it, not the other way around. I hope my art will also help people remember how beautiful this life is. How the ordinary or mundane can actually be the extraordinary or magic. And how beauty is a part of all of us. Read more>>

Wow, what a big question! It is my hope that I will touch many lives through introducing people to the healing power of God through my art and that as a result, people will come to know that there is a God who sees and cares for them. I hope to inspire a generation of artists who have not traditionally fit in religious spaces to be empowered tune do what God has put on their hearts to do and not worry about naysayers or a life of poverty and lack due to choosing art as a profession. In 2019, my youngest daughter graduated from high school and left for college. It was the mark of the end of a twenty year stay at home mom job that I loved. I thought I would sail into retirement and be remembered well for my volunteerism at their schools and hands-on dedication to raising two beautiful new additions to society. While in theory it sounds great, when I got to this point, I realized that I still had dreams for my life and now had more bandwidth to start chasing them. I watched my grandfather pursue with great passion the hobbies that interested him (sport hunting and Model A car restoration) and at his Celebration of Life in 2020, I got to hear from his friends about how he had inspired them as well. I Hope to build a legacy of integrity ,beauty , and honesty . The legacy I’m building today is one of happiness. Each day I try and live my life with grace and respect. When it comes to my work I hope that comes across . My favorite part of doing someone’s hair is when they’re styled and ready to see themselves . It always gives me such happiness to see the excitement in their face when they get a new look . It’s like all the hard work that went into that look payed off. I hope to share that joy in this world whether it’s in my salon chair or in my personal life . I think when I’m gone people will remember my smile and the feeling I gave them after they left my chair . Spreading great vibes a joy is the best part of my job . I really hope I’m remembered for the love I put in my work because I enjoy every minute of it . Read more>>

I hope to be remembered for a number of things. Professionally, I would like to be remembered for my contributions to the events industry. That includes practicing good industry standards, 30 years of working with a multitude of clients representing industry sectors that run the gamut — operating with integrity, and mentoring students and teaching others — whether through speaking at seminars and conferences to serving on board of directors. I want my legacy to be that you can be anything you want to be. You are not limited to any one thing. Do not let society or others make you feel like you have you to put yourself in a box. Usually there’s 4 stages to get through in life, the final one being Legacy. Mimicking those around you, Experimenting on your own, Committing to what you find is your purpose, and leaving a Legacy once you find it. I found my purpose early on. I wanted to be in the health and fitness industry. My legacy would be to help others achieve their goals in life through health. Getting my clients the right supplements, training, eating habits, and overall lifestyle. Without working on all aspects of your health, you can’t get the rest of what you want in life. As the owner of all the Nutripro entities, I must set the example by having achieved what I’ve wanted in my own life with my health leading the way. Read more>>

The legacy I am hoping to build is something my daughters are proud of. Representation of fathers especially Black fathers to girls is something that is not talked about enough, and is not taken seriously enough. I want my daughters to see their father leave behind something not only they can be proud of, something that they can take over, but most importantly see what a man who provides for his family looks like. I think others outside of them would look at my legacy in remembrance as someone who was intelligent, took chances, creative, and had fun doing it with his friends and family the right way. I aim to leave a multifaceted legacy that spans creativity, education, and artistic expression. Through my work in jewelry design, I aspire to be remembered for pushing the boundaries of artistic techniques, crafting unique pieces that celebrate the beauty of organic forms inspired by nature. Additionally, I hope to leave a mark by giving back to my community, teaching free jewelry workshops to pre-teens & teens, nurturing the next generation’s creative potential. I love teaching jewelry classes, it gives me the opportunity to experience a love of art through someone else’s eyes. Lastly, my legacy would include a collection of fine art photographs, capturing the essence of the world’s wonders and curiosities that have inspired and intrigued me, leaving behind a visual testament to my journey through life. Truly want to see all my business ventures thrive and succeed because the plan is to be a light for all those who weren’t even given a chance to show and share their light to the world. A legacy to me means leaving this world knowing I have done what most would call “The Impossible”, which is just overcoming the trials and tribulations of life as a whole. It is already magical enough that we have made it thus far into the journey to be successful. Mind you I haven’t ventured on the journey alone, I have crossed paths with other great creatives and beautiful souls in general. When it comes to what I hope to be remembered for, first I’d like to be remembered as a true kind person and second being remembered for spreading value and sharing life lessons that were learned through trial and error. The impact I wish to leave behind stems from a deep-seated commitment to staying true to myself and cultural celebration. My brand is more than just clothing/fashion; it’s a canvas for inspiration and an avenue for connection. I hope that I can ignite a spark in people’s hearts and minds from sharing myself through More Justice. As I reflect on my heritage, being part of the Marley family lineage, I am reminded of the incredible power of music, art, and culture to bridge divides and bring people closer. It’s my aspiration that my legacy would be one where these same threads of culture and unity continue to weave connections, long after I’m gone. Read more>>

I once heard someone say, “The goal isn’t to live forever but to build something that will..” In every thing that I have had my hand in, I work hard and make it a goal to leave something that will change others. I step in to every area asking myself, how can I serve the people around me regardless of my position. I would hope that people would remember me by being a man of integrity, generous, someone who served others, and gave all that I could for others to be better today than they were yesterday. The entire reason I started my nonprofit, The Pearce Family Foundation was because I wanted to leave a legacy behind. My great grandfather was the first Coors Beer distributor in the Southwest and he trail blazed the way for our family to have a successful business. Deciding to start the foundation there was a lot of doubt from even my own family. They did not understand why I would want to create something out of nothing and wasn’t sure I could take on all of that. After my first few years of running the nonprofit and everyone seeing what I was trying to do I have proven that the Pearce name will live on throughout our community. Read more>>
