We’ve been fortunate to connect with so many brilliant artists, business owners and leaders over the years and so we reached out to some of these talented folks to discuss what it takes to be successful.

I truly believe it all comes down to consistency and determination. To all the business owners out there, if I could give one piece of advice it would be consistency. When you are constantly putting your energy into something it will eventually give back to you. However, it can take time. That is where determination is most important. You have to want to reach your goals so bad that nothing will deter you from that objective no matter the obstacles that may arise. There will be highs and lows that I am sure all of my business owners can relate to, but the consistent hard work and determination to grow and evolve will ultimately reward you with success. “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” Albert Einstein I’m not saying it; Einstein is saying it. Therefore, we should not be afraid to dream. To be successful, you must first dream, then believe, and then work for what you believe. Not expecting anyone to believe you. Read more>>

I think in any path you choose in life and being successful in that life, is to love what you do first and foremost. Also, to stay motivated and determined to be successful. I personally think that it is easy to dream and to want to be successful in your life. But your dreams are nothing without action. Then even with action, it takes a lot of hard work, not just once, but over and over again. There will be 100 “no’s” before your first “yes”, then after that first “yes” there will be another 100 “no’s”. The “no’s” are what stop people from becoming successful. People don’t like the hard work, the hours, and the negativity surrounding success, and ultimately, they lose sight of the dream. Read more>>

I think success is a subjective concept. Success is measured differently by everyone. Some measure it monetarily or through achieving personal milestones. Personally, I would define success as achieving the goals I set, and the growth that happens in the in-between stages. More specifically, I think success requires tenacity and passion. In my endeavors, being tenacious has pushed me toward working hard and persisting through difficult times. I live by the mantra, “it’s tough to beat someone who never gives up.” Read more>>

Success is a concept that is different for every person. Whether it means having a great career, a home or a family, success is something everyone strives to achieve. It makes you feel proud, it gives you excitement, and it lets you know you have made an impact in a competitive world. My formula for success has been to be positive, transparent, present and committed. Plus it doesn’t hurt to have 20 plus years under my belt. Read more>>

We may find it difficult to make big changes in our lives because of the uncertainty of what might happen. It takes great determination to take a leap of faith and make decisions based on who you want to be, not who you are now. Most people give up after a few failed attempts, but that’s where the real winners separate themselves from the pack. Reframe how you view failure as a time to take a pause and reflect on what you learned from the most recent challenge. When faced with the same situation again, what would you do differently to achieve a different outcome? Read more>>

I believe confident people find success. And when I say confident, I don’t mean people with egos or blind optimism. To me, confidence is the ability to face the emotions that come with potential failure. We are never going to get things right all the time. So if we’re crippled by the fear of failure, shame, disappointment—success will be as rare as winning the lottery. Because it means you will only move forward if you are 100% sure of the outcome. But if we are ok to sit down with our uncomfortable emotions, look them in the eyes, and tell them “thank you for trying to protect me, but I’ve got this”, there really isn’t anything we can’t do. When you focus on the abundance of success in your life, you will automatically attract more success into your life. What does it mean to focus on being successful? First you must define and understand what success means to you. Find a colleague, family member, famous person and study them. Implement what you can into your life. It can be something so simple as creating a calendar that belongs to the person you’re studying. Add events to your calendar that you wish to be apart of or wish to organize. Read more>>

Flexibility and Determination. No matter what field I’ve found myself in, being able to adjust myself has always either helped me achieve my goals or fail so that I get another opportunity to try again; which is where determination comes into play. Of course there are a lot more factors that contribute to each individual person’s success, but this is what I know it has always come down to for me. Read more>>

Success has so many definitions for me depending upon which area of my life I am applying it to. We all have so many dimensions to our lives as well as within ourselves so success may be present in one aspect of our world while a sense of failure may be operational in another…. I have 3 small children and I’ve heard that you are only as happy as your unhappiest child…. I think this is true of life overall in that we gravitate and apply our energy where we have our greatest disappointment at any moment in time…. Read more>>

I believe one of the top things it takes to be successful is one has to already be successful in their mind and they have to see the success they desire. This important because many things will come to test what you are working towards, it will have you feel like the things you want are unattainable and some things will have you feel like you don’t deserve it. But if you’re already there in your mind the many obstacles can’t keep you from something you already have. Read more>>

Resilience. This is the first word that pops in my mind. You have to be resilient on so many levels. You have to be able to handle stress. You have to be able to handle rejection. You have to be able to accept that no matter how hard you try, some people may not like what you do. You have to accept that things may not go the way you want them to go. You have to adapt, change, be creative and go out of the way to make things work. If you’re not resilient, you won’t have the mental capacity to handle what it takes to be successful. Read more>>

I am a firm believer in consistency, dedication, and work ethic. I work at all times, including nights and weekends. Because this is my passion, I do not consider it work . Just like a mosaic, all the little bits add up to something greater. Read more>>

I think what it takes to be successful is honestly just two things. Unwillingness to give up. And Discipline. Those two are the hardest things for any human being to achieve. Discipline is hard cause most of the time we’re training our minds and bodies to do things we don’t want to be doing. If it was fun i guess it wouldn’t be called discipline. On top of discipline there’s plenty of tangible and non tangible obstacles that come your way. If you succeed 10 times. You probably failed 100. Read more>>

Success can mean something different to every individual. For me, it means meeting milestones I have set for myself. Focusing on my own milestones means resisting the pressure that society often imposes upon entrepreneurs and startups to grow a company quickly and make lots of money. When milestones make sense success is pretty much guaranteed; however, there are two other attributes I would say contribute to success: persistence and quality. Persistence means showing up on a consistent and predictable basis, and quality means providing a final product that excites your client and meets or exceeds their expectations. Read more>>
