Success. A long desired goal for so many of us on this earth. But what is success? It is a word that has come to define us. A word that can make us or break us. If we give it the power to do so. The formal definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But our society has morphed the original definition of success into a warped perspective of what success is. Read more>>

When you reposition your thinking of what successful looks like, you’ll realize you never failed. As I’ve grown in my business, I reminisced on what I believed to be my greatest successes and failures. The hard part was actually finding any failures. I say that not to be arrogant, but in realization that even my failures contributed to my success. Read more>>

Success to most people seems to gravitate to money or profit. Yes, those things are important and certainly rewards for a job well done. But my philosophy is to concentrate on your craft, and be the best in your field at what you do … the benefits will always follow. Benefits manifest themselves as money or profit, but more importantly, repeat business, or referrals will be very valuable. Read more>>

I think the biggest contributors to success are a strong sense of self, and a desire to be the best version of yourself. As a solo founder I am the first ambassador for my brand; people want to connect with me to form a connection to my brand so it’s really important to communicate authentically and with confidence. Becoming an entrepreneur has forced me to take a hard look at myself, my strengths, my weaknesses, my fears, because often times those dynamics have direct impact on the vitality of my business. It’s important to connect your mind, heart and soul to be successful in any area you choose and trust what ideas and inspiration come to you. Many new creations that have changed the world were bought into existence by people who had a new idea and didn’t ignore it, even when they didn’t know how to make it happen. A big part of being on the path to success is to say ‘Yes’ when opportunities come, even if they don’t look like a direct line to your goal. Read more>>

What I think it takes to be successful is of course the core things: passion, being committed, ambition, staying focused, having a plan and executing it. You have to forever be a student, being willing and open to learn more. But I think the major key to being successful is by keeping God first in your life and being obedient to His will. You can have all these plans for yourself, but if it doesn’t align with what God has for you, it won’t work. Read more>>

Success is defined by whatever you believe is a success story for yourself, which I highly support, without the small steps within your big goal there wouldn’t be a process to learn from. Success is an ambiguous word. As a creative in today’s world of one-click affirmation, I think the word “success” can be daunting. How is it measured — the amount of followers on social media? Happy clients? A booked calendar? A sense of self worth and happiness in what you produce? I hope it’s the latter, but in many instances, I think creativity is diminished because we are creating for others and subsequently, self-critique and self-doubt is inevitable. Read more>>

In my opinion, what it takes to be successful is failure and hard work. If you don’t fail and work hard to overcome those failures, then you do not learn on how to be successful. There were many times that I wanted to give up on my business and was disillusioned. When I first started, some employees quit, or received many client complaints so I had to let go of housekeepers that were not doing good work. During those times, my business lost clients and it made it difficult to continue to grow. Read more>>
