We’ve been fortunate to connect with so many brilliant artists, business owners and leaders over the years and so we reached out to some of these talented folks to discuss what it takes to be successful.

It’s all about perspective. Growing up I had extremely talented parents who worked hard for everything they made. My families goal was to support and love to the fullest. I wasn’t always thankful when I was younger because you would look around at your friends and everything that their families had (money, materialistic possessions, expensive travel) and think wow they are successful. I think it takes grit, hard work day in and day out, dedication and passion. You have to have thick skin to make it as a business owner, specifically. Stick to your convictions and drown out the noise that won’t help you be successful. You have to believe in yourself and instead of getting discouraged when you hit a rough patch you keep moving forward and pinpoint what you have to do to keep going. Read more>>

One of the things I found the hardest with starting my own business (and still struggle with) were all of the doubts that ran through my head – “What if I’m not good enough?”, “What if I fail?”, “What if others laugh at me?”, “What if I can’t do this?” But success can’t happen if you don’t try. I so often swallow my anxieties and doubts and just go for it. The biggest key to my success has been to just go out and try. Read more>>

For me I believe in order to be successful you have to experience failure. Failure is not the end but only the beginning. Every experience comes with trying something new and a learning experience to evolve and become better. I was hesitant to leave my medical career of 20 years to chase my dreams of starting a bakery because I was afraid of failing. Read more>>

To me the meaning to being successful means to be doing something that you love. When you’re doing something that you love you put in so much extra work, which ultimately opens up more doors for yourself. For me, being successful requires giving a consistent, high-quality product or experience. I strive to make everything I offer feel like it’s time and money well spent (whether it’s my wellness retreats, personal training, group exercise, my 1-on-1 consultations, et..) I would never want someone to leave from their time with me and think “well, that was a waste.” I want to always offer the best in health & fitness and try to stay on top of the most cutting edge information for all of my clients. To be successful, you have to believe in yourself. You have to believe that you will succeed and try your best not to think negatively when things don’t go your way. You can’t expect everything to be a win, there’s always failure on the way to reaching success. Training, passion, ambition, advertising, and knowing when to ask for help. These five things seem simple and necessary to success, however, not everyone uses these concepts in their business. I don’t believe there is just one trait you must possess to be successful. I think there are multiple traits that work together to lead to success. I think that time management is huge in succeeding. Not to sound cliché but honestly I believe it takes a ton of self belief to become successful. I am no where near where I want to be in life, but things didn’t turn around for me until I believed in myself 100%. There’s no straight answer to this question. Success is subjective. What I would say is you must put in the work! Hard work, continued work. In order to be successful, you have to be clear on what the mission/goal is and see it through. You have to be willing to grow from your failures. Success is what you define, but know you will be successful. Fall and get back up! Read more>>

Some highlights along my journey: 1. Pray about what your steps should be 2. When coming up with a business, find a need that can resonate with you. 3. The number one thing I tell people is don’t compare yourself to someone else and their path because you don’t know their journey and it may not be the right one for you.
