When we go on short trips we often know exactly what we expect at the end, but when it comes to our lives and careers we’ve seen far too often we shy away from really thinking through where we expect to be at the end and what we hope our legacy will be. So, we wanted to encourage conversations on the topic of legacy and you’ll find highlights from our conversation from some wonderful members of the business and creative community below.

I want my legacy and the legacy of The Makers Hub to be about transformation, empowerment, and self-determination. We started with a tool library and a small makerspace, but that’s just the beginning. The real vision is a full-scale community makerspace in Compton, one with workshops, studios, and spaces where people can collaborate and learn. I see a future where anyone can access equipment for woodworking, metalworking, multimedia production, VR, robotics, and even a shared culinary makerspace. Read more>>

I hope that people will remember that I made them smile, laugh, have fun, enjoy themselves. and for a little while, forget their problems through the interactive mystery comedies I write and act in, the books I write and the mystery games I produce. I think it’s important that people take the time to relax, to play, to socialize and I think, I hope that my little mysteries do that. I’d like people to smile when they think of me and my writing. As a portrait photographer, I hope my legacy is one of connection, impact, and beauty. More than just taking photos, I want to be remembered for the way I made people feel—seen, valued, and truly celebrated.
Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless families, professionals, and individuals at different stages of their lives. I hope that long after I’m gone, the images I’ve created will continue to tell their stories, reminding future generations of the love, strength, and essence of the people in them. Read more>>

Lulo is an incredibly delicate and fragile idea while also being something that’s not per se “new” – nightclubs are alllll over the world. There’s even some here in town that have been operating about a year or so and some that have operated for years and stayed completely out of the limelight – Read more>>

I hope that I’m building a legacy that represents what life can look like when you focus on purpose and alignment, whatever that looks like to you. Making correct, not just fast decisions. Being patient and resilient. To have is to give, so my dream is to be that vessel to help others build their own legacies. I want to be remembered for being a leader, hard-worker, and a good person. That shoulder for others to lean on. Read more>>

I am hoping that people will remeber me as a woman who lived her truth and epmpowerd others to create and live a life that feels authentic and joyful to them. I really believe that we have the power to do that, but we are so often caught up in society, family and other people expecations that we give up on what it is that we truly want. So many of my clients (women in their early 40’s) are in a radical change of career because they realise that they can longer do work that has no purpose and no meaning to them. They are seeking alignement, they want to find themselves again and reconnect to what lit them up. So I hope that I will be remembered for helping them achieve that. Read more>>

We envision Salsas Chilaca leaving a legacy that goes beyond just creating delicious salsas. Our goal is to be remembered as a brand that truly celebrates and preserves the rich culinary heritage of Mexico. We hope people will say that we built a company were quality and authenticity came first, were every bottle of salsa was a tribute to our traditions, and a way to bring people together around and share love for great food. Ultimately, we want Salsas Chilaca to be known as a beacon of passion and pride in Mexican cuisine, inspiring others to appreciate the art of authentic flavors. Read more>>

I want my legacy to be one of empowerment, inclusivity, and kindness. I hope to be remembered for creating a space where women of all sizes, races, abilities, and backgrounds felt seen, celebrated, and truly valued. My work as a boudoir photographer is not just about capturing beautiful images; it’s about helping women embrace their own unique beauty and feel confident and comfortable in their skin. Read more>>
