When we go on short trips we often know exactly what we expect at the end, but when it comes to our lives and careers we’ve seen far too often we shy away from really thinking through where we expect to be at the end and what we hope our legacy will be. So, we wanted to encourage conversations on the topic of legacy and you’ll find highlights from our conversation from some wonderful members of the business and creative community below.
Mauriett Chayeb

A lifelong dream of mine has been to establish a legacy with my career. With an unpronounceable name “Mauriett Chayeb” but it’s credited with entertainment projects globally. My voice has played in cinema territories I’ve never travelled to, but my work has! Imagination will be my legacy, I’m always up to something. New challenge always around the corner and I accomplish them in my own style. Read more>>

The sort of legacy I would love to leave behind is a motivational & inspiring one. I want people to believe in themselves so vividly that everyone around them will have no choice but to believe in them, because if you don’t believe in yourself how will anyone else?. I always wanted to be a strong & vital role model in people lives & in my own. Outside of being a Culinary & entrepreneur, I want to be remembered for my kindness, optimism & leadership. I always thought inside & outside the box, my way & level of thinking has always been to shoot to the stars. My legacy will prove anyone can follow their dreams & reach the goal they wish to achieve if they put their minds to it. Read more>>

As both a writer and cartoonist, I simply enjoyed the creative process. I love creating something from nothing. Taking a mere smidge of inspiration and writing a short story or novel. As a cartoonist, this inspiration is similar although I feel it comes from a different part of the imagination. And what I would like my legacy to be is that I was a good, maybe even a great storyteller and artist. Enough so for my work to live on after I’m gone. Read more>>

I want to help people reconnect with that childlike mindset where the world feels boundless and full of possibilities. Remember when you were a kid, dreaming big and believing you could do anything? Before the world imposed its expectations and societal pressures on you? You took risks without hesitation and saw every day as an adventure. In my work, I aim to capture and inspire that spirit. It’s about shedding the constraints of adulthood and embracing exploration and curiosity. Achieving your greatest version means approaching life with wonder, believing in your potential, and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. Read more>>

When I started this article process, I didn’t think I would be talking about this, but I actually think about my legacy quite frequently. I truly believe that the main reason we are here is relationships—how we live and interact with one another. So when I think about legacy, in my point of view, it’s 100% connected with our relationships. Legacy is not about me; it’s about how I helped others and what I did with my time to support building something meaningful for others besides myself. Read more>>

In the life of Black Americans, there are some common threads in the way we’re parented that destroy relationships in the family. I grew up with all my family members being proponents of corporal punishment, abrasive talk, and rigid standards but unpredictable consequences (except getting whooped when you fell out of line. You could always count on that.) I adopted the same style of parenting and I watched my son becoming a whole different person. My sweet, happy-go-lucky, affectionate funny guy with a big personality, had stopped showing that side of himself, especially around me. Read more>>

I want to be remembered as someone who brought energy, warmth, and positivity into every space—a true vibe that left a lasting impression. My hope is that people remember how I made them feel: loved, cared for, and empowered.
