When we go on short trips we often know exactly what we expect at the end, but when it comes to our lives and careers we’ve seen far too often we shy away from really thinking through where we expect to be at the end and what we hope our legacy will be. So, we wanted to encourage conversations on the topic of legacy and you’ll find highlights from our conversation from some wonderful members of the business and creative community below.

I have thought long and hard over the years about what my legacy will be. Who will my kids say I was? What will my friends and family say I offered to them? Whose life will I touch in a significant way? At the end of the day, when I am long gone I hope that people will say that I was authentically me. I hope they aren’t able to articulate how special I was,. That words aren’t able to describe the kindness, love, and dedication to seeing the best in people that I gave. Read more>>

I hope my legacy will be a name in every household, business, and town. I want to be a brand that people recognize as pure excellence. I want to leave my children and grandchildren with a name and a business that they can be proud of. I want to be the first person in my family to create generational wealth. Growing up I didn’t have much my parents were struggling and we were poor, but as a kid I didn’t know that. Read more>>

I am an orphan girl from a middle-class family. You can more or less guess what kind of difficulties I faced from the very beginning of my educational life. I believe that I represent every girl who was born in a not very advantageous country and is trying to get somewhere by her own means. I have continued this mission in every job I have signed so far, and I am still continuing to do so. Read more>>

My legacy is extremely important to me and is something that I think about all the time, especially since we ask the same question to almost every guest we have on The Blackstage Podcast. I want to inspire others to live life on their own terms. I believe a lot of people do not follow their passions, and work their entire life doing something they do not love. In order to achieve this, I want to create outlets and opportunities for people to follow their passion, and I believe the way I live my life can be a constant reminder that you can follow your passion and still live life to the fullest. Living on O‘ahu, I’m constantly surrounded by the beauty and power of the ocean. As someone who has always been deeply connected to the sea, I feel incredibly fortunate that my family calls this island home. I want to be remembered as the guy who brought individuals together in an ongoing effort to save the planet. As a people, we need to spend more of our time focusing on the diversion and transformation of food waste with the end product used to grow more bountiful and nutritious food for our planet. These efforts will not only reduce the amount of food waste in landfills, but directly impact those of our population most affected by food insecurity. Read more>>

Love, Confetti Events’ origin is not wholly unique. We started and are fueled by a passion for creating unique events that reflect those they celebrate. How We Started – Father of the Bride was one of my favorite movies growing up – Steve Martin was hilarious and Martin Short, as a wedding planner, tickled me to no end. A close runner up was The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez. What seemed to be missing from all of these films I loved… Was the representation of Black & Brown Love and Celebration. Read more>>

My business story is one of resilience, courage, kindness and being thoughtful of how I am impacting the world around me when choosing materials to work with. There will be hundreds of days you will want to give up. You will have 50 failures for every winning idea when you are a creator. Stay true to yourself and always trust your instincts. Read more>>

I started my podcast “Real Talk with Steven and Camden” in the middle of quarantine. My friend from high school, Camden, was the only person I could imagine going into this venture with because of our love for sports and our love to talk. Most importantly though, we could talk about real world problems and be serious but also be entertaining to the audience. Camden and I were no strangers to hosting at the beginning of our podcast. Our expertise is creating sculptures for people who have lost someone they love. We visit funeral homes with the upmost care and respect and usually cast the hand of someone who has passed. Sometimes family members choose to hold their loved ones hand in the cast, but we have also came up with a unique way to do this in two stages for those who can’t physically be there. Read more>>

I hope that my personal legacy will be much more complex, but I want my business legacy to be simple. My clients hire me for photos, and I wholeheartedly hope that they will walk away with beautiful, tangible memories to look back on, but more importantly, I hope they remember feeling seen and valued when they work with me. I hope to leave behind a legacy of joy, hope and encouragement. Growing up, I remember feeling a sense of wonder at the things around me, and as got older that wonder faded. Life can be hard and it is easy to forget the simple pleasures that once kept us occupied for hours. My goal with the Blobs is to reignite the wonder in us all. Read more>>
