Parents teach us many things including how to be a parent. We can learn from their mistakes, sure, but we can also learn a lot from the things they got right. We asked successful entrepreneurs and creatives to open up to us about their parents and what they felt their parents got right.

My parents raised me to believe that I can do anything I set my mind to and it has inspired me to do the same for others through hair. I struggled through high school with ADHD and never thought that school after a diploma was right for me. My dad felt differently! On a lunch date one day, we drove past my soon to be beauty school and he said “You do great on your friend’s hair, why not try making a career out of something you’re amazing at?” He constantly reminded me that college is not the end all be all for everyone and he is still my inspiration to this day.
