“In our view there is already a ton of coverage of the trends that ivory tower professors and billionaire fund managers are seeing. What’s the edge in hearing the billionaire consensus view over and over again?
The edge comes from hearing new perspectives and new information like from the wedding planner who has worked with hundreds of couples during the pandemic and has noticed that couples are allocating significantly more of their wedding budgets on “”small details”” like personalized neon signs and eco-friendly customized digital invitations rather than paper invites. Or the accountant seeing how there’s a huge uptick in ecommerce clients generating revenue from in person popups.
Below, you’ll find some of the most thoughtful entrepreneurs and creatives in across various industries and markets sharing the trends they are seeing. ”

Within the wedding stationery industry, the biggest trend I’ve seen this year is a search for personal, meaningful invitations. Couples want a design that speaks to their own story. The world of custom wedding invitations is booming with this trend, as I see more and more requests for custom watercolor crests, venue illustrations, personalized wedding maps, and more. Custom design is so beneficial for both artists and brides alike, as it provides a more meaningful product for couples than something they could order off a big corporate site, and provides the opportunity to support local artists as they design their one-of-a-kind wedding invitations. Being and adventurous wedding photographer is truly an evolving and growing industry. As inflations rises and social media trends push towards unique weddings that are more intentional I have seen a huge shift of couples looking to have and elopement with either just themselves or even a microwedding (typically less than 15 guests). Typically when a couple chooses a smaller wedding the focus shifts from material aesthetics towards a true once in a lifetime wedding day experience. This look different depending on the couples, but that is also the beauty. Read more>>

One of the biggest trends I’ve seen in the media industry in the past few years is the victimization of certain groups. Minorities such as the Hispanic and African American communities are constantly told that they’re oppressed and not treated fairly in this country. As a Latin woman and immigrant myself, I truly believe that this kind of approach, far from helping, is holding our communities back. Read more>>

As devastating as the pandemic was to so many individuals and businesses/industries worldwide, the wedding industry in Florida had somewhat of an opposite effect. From mid March to the end of June 2020, I had at least 40 wedding bookings that were either cancelled or postponed. Beyond that point there were several postponements that continued right through till the end of 2021. International clients pushed their new dates out to 2022 in most cases. Read more>>

Extreme micro bikini, two-piece suits have undergone a makeover the last few years where the tops are adorned “upside down” and the bottoms resemble ancient style clothing “loincloth.” Using a much smaller section of fabric and becoming more revealing. I have not yet jumped on this bandwagon, but this is the newest trend that I see more and more of. Read more>>

The desire to engage “hired help” continues to rise in this almost post-pandemic world. Remote work existed in some capacity before we turned our spare rooms into workspaces and get used to “new norms” but the reliance and value of qualified VAs and OBMs is at an all time high. As companies and organizations redefine their budgets, outsourcing becomes more and more attractive and cost effective. Read more>>

Community is becoming the new follower count for creators…. We’ve seen a massive shift in how creators monetize, engage, and interact with their audiences over the last few years and now we’re seeing creators’ community sizes become more relevant than their follower and view counts in some cases. Communities provide a safer place to learn and. grow with like-minded individuals that often have the same interests. The experience is very collaborative and discussion-based compared to the one-way experience many users get on traditional social media platforms. Read more>>
