In our view there is already a ton of coverage of the trends that ivory tower professors and billionaire fund managers are seeing. What’s the edge in hearing the billionaire consensus view over and over again?
The edge comes from hearing new perspectives and new information like from the wedding planner who has worked with hundreds of couples during the pandemic and has noticed that couples are allocating significantly more of their wedding budgets on “small details” like personalized neon signs and eco-friendly customized digital invitations rather than paper invites. Or the accountant seeing how there’s a huge uptick in ecommerce clients generating revenue from in person popups.
Below, you’ll find some of the most thoughtful entrepreneurs and creatives in across various industries and markets sharing the trends they are seeing.

Chess is hot. It is popular and in the mainstream. The success of the Queen’s Gambit has led to an explosion of interest in this centuries old game. This has in turn provided me with a lot more clients to teach privately for my “Coach Q” chess coaching brand. And, it has provided me with the opportunity to make chess related documentary film in my first film “King Chess” (2024 release date) and my forthcoming film “The United States of Chess.” (In Post-production) I will illustrate this through a story about how director wife Gloria Iseli and were able to get distribution for the first project, King Chess. AI is everywhere. For me, I believe that the beauty and art of photography is capturing our moments and people as we are. I do use artistic tools to manipulate light/editing software to refine images – but AI has allowed these concepts to take on a whole new meaning. We’re taking family and senior portraits and making it look like we are in another state or country. Read more>>

We are seeing an unprecedented hike in debt due to inflation, “greedflation” as well as the prime rates skyrocketing to rates back in the 70’s. And all banks are now trying to find a way to balance their interest rates on all products to try and maintain customer satisfaction and their profits. And consumers or businesses are struggling to navigate through all the uncertainty banks are putting them into. With this overall economy we are actively outreaching to customers to offer help in-terms of debt consolidation, financial planning and so on to try and reduce the affects of the overall economy. There is a trend right now in the creative industry, specifically with photo and video, of people majorly overcharging or undercharging for their services. Setting your prices is always a struggle for someone just starting out so it takes some time to figure out what a good price for your service is. For the most part, this is fine. However, there are a lot of photographers that start out charging hundreds of dollars for a 30 minute headshot sessions and don’t know how the aperture affects a picture. In my area there are so many people like this that when people hear my prices they either think I have the best deal on the planet, or they assume that my pictures aren’t as good since I’m charging 1/4 of what they’d been quoted by others. The marketing industry is shifting due to the digital giants like Facebook and Tiktok deciding to shift from organic reach to pay per play. We noticed this in the last few months when our clients accounts were starting to decline. However, when we mixed a combination of ads and organic content, we noticed that the organic content now started to perform better. Read more>>

In the entertainment world, there’s a trend of making prequels, sequels, and remakes of existing stories. The thirst for nostalgia and the familiar drives this trend, leading to saturated and repeated concepts and ideas in movies and shows. Think of a bustling movie studio where a writer or writer duo pitches an original and thought-provoking script. There may be some type of excitement in the room, yet the studio and producers hesitate. They fear the uncertainty of financial success without a recognizable franchise or stars attached. Read more>>

One of the most prominent trends in the cocktail industry that has caught my attention is the rising demand for mocktails. Some might view this trend as seemingly unnecessary, but I believe it presents an excellent opportunity to delve into the world of flavors and refine one’s palate. A recent experience as a private bartender at an event perfectly encapsulates this trend’s emergence. At the event, I was tasked with creating a mocktail, and I decided to put my spin on the classic Aperol Spritz. Read more>>

Quiet Luxury & 90s minimalism are going very strong right now in the Fashion industry. Clean lines, simplicity, and a focus on high-quality, versatile pieces have been trending as a contrast to more maximalist styles. Also people care more and more about functionalities, and sustainability. I personally like this trend a lot, since I started VERAFIED as a slow fashion brand, and the core of our design is time lasting, modern-chic and minimal. We want people to shop with us with an idea of” Buy less, choose well.” So for us, this is definitely a very fitting trend and a great opportunity for us to grow this year. Read more>>

At Shen Generation, one of the most prominent trends we’ve observed over the last 5 years is the rising prevalence of severe gut health imbalances. We believe that a strong foundation for optimal and radiant health originates from a well-balanced gut. However, what we’re seeing is that many of us were predisposed from childhood. For example, growing up we mostly ate highly processed foods, normalized the constant use of antibiotics, and pushed ourselves to perform at an unsustainable rate forcing us to live in constant fight-or-flight. I would say one of the biggest trends happening in the education industry is the emergence of AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology in schools. While I believe that AI technology has the ability to revolutionize education, I also fear that it can serve as a hindrance to the academic growth of students, if they’re not taught how to use it properly. The biggest fear that I have is that the easy accessibility and over-dependence of these tools will cause children to become passive learners and have difficulties developing critical thinking skills. AI-generated tools and chatbots such as ChatGPT have the ability to generate whole essays and written responses, within a matter of seconds. Read more>>
