Our community is fortunate to have so many brilliant, insightful entrepreneurs and creatives and so many of them have front row, ground level seats that allow them to see emerging trends before the so-called experts, industry leaders, etc. We wanted to create a space to connect members of our community where they could share these insights on trends and opportunities they are seeing.

I had a client the other day send me a voice note “I joined this social media training and I was so surprised to see what is being taught as a ‘strategy’ is business and content marketing”…. It was this “use more Instagram stickers (like polls, question boxes etc.) and position them in this way to get more engagement”. Now don’t get me wrong, we should be using these for engagement. But to classify this as a strategy? This is a tactic. Not a strategy. Read more>>

Something I’ve noticed over the last four to five years in the film industry is the lack of determination and faith in their work. Not to say that breaking into, staying relevant and successful in the film industry is easy: because it is not. But, getting in, and started is significantly harder than staying on track once you’ve arrived. And as I’ve met several writers, directors who are young and trying to get their first “hit” I have noticed two things. Putting up their own money to get their first project done is like asking them to pay someone else’s rent for a month. I’m not saying all newbies trying to make it are like this, but I have noticed a large majority are. They want the glory and the perks of having a successful film and script, but they think it is out of the question to fund it themselves, change their lifestyle for a few months to not have those two beers every night and come up with a budget. One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is A LOT of golf professionals are leaving the industry post-covid19. Let’s talk about the 5 Biggest Trends I see in the Green Cleaning Product Industry, especially 2024! 1) Use of Plant-Based Cleaning Products: The cleaning industry is significantly shifting towards plant-based cleaning products- (products derived from renewable plant sources). This goes hand in hand with minimizing harsh chemicals and reducing environmental impact. I believe the reason is that consumers have more information today than ever; they are learning the health impact of household chemicals we’ve all used for years. Because of this, they are increasingly valuing these ‘greener’ products for their effectiveness, gentleness, and overall contribution to a healthier living environment. Today’s consumers can now make conscious, educated purchasing choices. Read more>>

The wedding industry is always changing and I love that. It keeps me on my toes and keeps my eyes fresh on how to photograph new things/trends. One of the biggest trends we’re seeing currently in interior design is the push towards sustainable, eco-friendly design. Homeowners are becoming more conscious of their environmental impact, reflecting on their interior choices. As a designer, it’s refreshing. It presents an opportunity to be creative. The concern is ensuring these green materials stand the test of time, both in durability and style. So, educating consumers about proper care and maintenance is crucial. Read more>>

When I first started tattooing in 2005 and dinosaurs roamed the earth, we used electromagnetic relay machines most folks in the biz refer to as “coils”. Noisy, heavy, and and awkwardly balanced – these relics came with a steep learning curve. Since then, many new innovations have been made to the rotary style of tattoo machine. They come with a lot of benefits, such as the same machine can now be used for multiple needle types just by switching a cartridge. With coils, you’d have to have a machine tuned for lining one size width, another machine if you wanted thicker lines, another machine for shading, another machine or two for color packing. It seems that in this business, trends come and go quicker than the tide changes. Being on top of trends is of utmost importance. Being in tune to social media is key to this in my opinion. Joining different social media platforms, engaging with other like-minded business owners, attending events hosted by social media influencers, etc really helps! Being able to put yourself out there is so helpful as well in this business. Try something you think might work, if it doesn’t; move on and try something else! You think this certain trend won’t last too long? Read more>>

The biggest trend in my industry is the influx of hiring influencers for jobs, that would normally go to seasoned professionals. In the age of social media and followers equaling revenue, companies and brands have been hiring beauty influencers to do makeup and hair for campaigns, shoots, events, etc, which has put artist who don’t have huge followings but have the knowledge and expertise out of work. The problem with this isn’t the companies wanted to make more money by bringing these influencers in, the problem lies in the capability to execute the job of a makeup or hair artist. Most influencers don’t have the training and education that professional hair & Makeup Artist have. Read more>>

The digital marketing landscape is always changing, so what’s trending today will be entirely different a month later. As I write this, Threads has already disrupted the social media landscape, Twitter has become X, and, of course, the utilization of more AI tools has rapidly come into the fold in both the corporate and creative space. I have musician clients who are already using AI tools to create their next music videos. Read more>>

A trend I’m interested in is fresh meals to go. Covid did a number on the Restaurant industry, no question. But that doesn’t change the fact that food takes time to prepare and the average household is going to seek out someone else who is skilled to prepare it for them once a weekish. In my experience, people are more curious about meals they can feel good about eating and sharing with loved ones. There has been a steady move away from grabbing a bag of burgers and fries. A curiosity to move more into the lane of nourishing ones self with foods that not only fill you up but give you the nutrients your body needs. It’s ecxiting as a chef to see people respond to the thoughtfulness of ingredient choices, time of labor and interesting flavor profiles. Read more>>

The antique and vintage business has been around for centuries. It’s a business that really knows no boundaries. Everywhere you go in the world, in almost every city, you’ll be able to find and antique/vintage store or flea market. You’ll find people of all ages at store and markets enjoying antiquing. It’s a great industry to be in. We’re owned our store for 15 years and for each of the major economic down markets during that time, 2008 and 2020, the industry has shown a resiliency that we did not image. Read more>>
