Working on something meaningful is a common desire – but how? We started asking folks to share the story of how they ended up working on a project they felt was meaningful because we wanted inspiration but also because we wondered if hearing from people from across a range of industries would help us identify patterns making it more likely for anyone to be able to find and work on projects that they would find meaningful.

The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is undoubtedly my Damnation project. This body of work delves into themes of human fallibility, sin, self-destruction, and the complex interplay of guilt, judgment, and punishment—all through a deeply personal, feminist lens. What makes this project so significant to me is how much of myself I’ve poured into it. The ideas emerged from a place of introspection and emotional turmoil, inspired by my own experiences and struggles with identity, morality, and the weight of expectations. The project’s backstory is rooted in my fascination with Dark Romanticism and Baroque art, combined with a desire to confront modern existential dilemmas. I started this project during a time when I felt disillusioned by the world’s harsh realities—grappling with societal pressures, personal mistakes, and the inescapable flaws of humanity. The recurring symbol of black sludge in my work reflects this internal conflict, representing everything from regret and decay to moral ambiguity and emotional weight. Read more>>

Building a nonprofit and being and service from the country I left due to the war. Firmina Foundation was Established in 2018. Through various fundraisers, including fashion shows and auctions, A school were built in Mozambique, addressing the need for proper educational facilities. Instead of encouraging kids to work in the farm to change the ideology to encourage kids to go to school. Read more>>

One of my most meaningful projects was the Goddess of Fertility . As I began building this narrative, I felt a deep pull to connect with my Anatolian roots, where, long before the rise of major religions, Mesopotamia celebrated matriarchy and revered motherhood and fertility as the essence of creation. The woman was—and still is—the creator of life. ✨ As a mother and a female artist, this story holds an even deeper significance for me. It’s a celebration of womanhood, of giving life, and the incredible power that comes with it. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I have worked on is definitely starting one of the first original traveling jewelry workshops in our area and also in other states too! In doing this I have been able to give stay at home moms like me or even just other moms in general, the push to do something for themselves that still allows them to be home too. So many of our workshop leaders have started their own traveling diy businesses after working with us and have admitted it would have never happened if we didn’t guide and push them to take chances through our contracted workshop leaders program. I love giving back to our community in this way and showing people they have a fire in them it just needs some fuel! Read more>>

It’s an oil painting of a 1972 Camaro Z28 that I painted on a 3×4 ft stretched canvas. It was based on a reference photo that I took a few years back from my phone. It meant so much to me because it was the biggest painting challenge I given myself for scale and detail accuracy. I referenced it from a difficult photograph I chose on purpose for it’s lighting and color composition. Moreover, I was also experimenting with a different painting method I had never tried before..
