Every once in a while we have the good fortune of working on a project that we feel truly matters, a project that we’ll still be thinking about years from now. Maybe even something we can imagine telling our grandkids about – surely you’ve had moments like that where something you did in your professional life really mattered?

One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on thus far is The Sound of Milwaukee Docuseries. This particular Docuseries is something I’ve been working on for years and truly means the world to me. I’m originally from Milwaukee, WI and a lot of times my city is overlooked or only highlighted for the negative. I wanted to show a different narrative and highlight some of the things I love the most about the city of Milwaukee. This wasn’t an easy project a lot of things tried to stand in the way of completing it but we don’t give up over here. I can’t wait for the world to see it and understand the beauty in Milwaukee’s music scene. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I have worked on so far was my college junior project. At the beginning of the semester, each person in my class pitched an idea for our own 3-minute short film. Each presentation was wonderful, and our professor had a difficult time choosing, but mine was one of two picked to be made. My idea was set in a forest long in the future, and revolved around a distant and disgruntled wolf with his new puppy-like robotic companion. The two go on an adventure where the wolf slowly opens up and begins to enjoy the little one’s company, only for disaster to strike. The short ends on a warm and fuzzy note, as the two set off on their next adventure. Read more>>

My primary work is documenting events, including non-profits, multi-day corporate, weddings, and community. When the pandemic shut everything down in March of 2020, within a span of 3 days, I lost all of my scheduled paid work for the remainder of the year. I’m not one to sit around. I recalled a photography workshop that I attended years ago in which the presenter spoke of the importance of doing personal work in between paid work as a way to stay pliable, creative, inspired, and productive. Wilderness to Table, has been the most meaningful project I’ve created to date, that is until my new venture, Be Saine, launches in early fall. My career started out as a Chef in fine dining and I have worked in some of the best restaurants in the world. I then became a culinary chef instructor and it was then I became passionate about teaching and knowing where my food comes from. I absolutely loved teaching students to cook, get creative and see them bloom into their own style. It was while I was teaching I would take my students to local farms to harvest seasonal produce. The most meaningful project I’ve worked on was my thesis titled “Cuniculture”. I created this body of work between 2020 and 2021, largely during the covid lockdown. This body of work explores conceptual overlaps between women and rabbits. While navigating feelings of displacement and isolation, ceramics became my stability. During this time my work shifted to be less covert to more unapologetic in the subject matter. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is my upcoming EP. It tackles the most difficult things I go through, like mental health, queerness, and my trans identity. I’ve been writing these songs with Kara Connolly over the past year and a half, and they feel very true to who I am at this point in my life. It is very therapeutic for me to be able to express these negative feelings in the form of song, because that turns the negative into something positive that I can enjoy. Read more>>

I think every project should be meaningful, otherwise what are you doing anything for? Far too often people are doing things just to do them, they’re not sure what their end goal is, or they don’t know what they’re actually trying to sell.; they just try to sell. The question isn’t what’s most meaningful, it’s really about which project effectively got my point across, as an artist, thematically, and sonically. Read more>>

Almost every piece that I’ve worked on is meaningful in its own way, but recently I’ve been very excited about my newest piece, “Query”, which was a video piece made for planetariums. In the making of this piece, I met with an astrophysicist to learn about black holes and gravitational lensing, work with two bass performers, and planetarium staff in order to make a really unique audiovisual piece. The most meaningful project that I’ve released to date as an artist would be “No Self Pity”, an EP that I released in January of 2019. This project meant a lot because of what it took in order to put this product together. It took about two years in order to accurately convey the thoughts and feelings that I went through at this confusing time after becoming aware of my surroundings on a deeper level. Being an artist we are often faced with adversity, doubt, and many other things that can cause us to ultimately walk away from pursuing becoming a music artist. Read more>>

My most meaningful project is “Unapologetic”. The 9 track project is full of no regrets. This music journey has not been easy but that’s what make it so much worth it. I’ve encountered so many obstacles from relationships, family & even battling myself experiencing different lifestyles & perspectives this project to me is one of a kind. No need for any cosigns, I stamped myself. Music with substance, pain & passion runs through each track with amazing features from upcoming artists. Read more>>

The most meaningful project for me was my first collection under Universal Rejects, titled “For What It’s Worth”. This was a very personal collection for me because For what it’s worth is about taking different parts of my past and putting them together. For me, art is a way of showing emotion and being open which is something I am not as used to doing so with growing up in a Nigerian household. Read more>>

I would say that “Growth” has been the most meaningful project for me thus far. The pain and emotion that I put into every song was purposely written as a visualization for listeners. Depressing, PTSD is something that Veterans and family members of Veterans have an extremely hard time dealing with, but I also come from an environment where I was introduced to violence and drugs at a young age which can also leave you with PTSD. I think the most meaningful project I’ve worked on is the album that Charlie, Kevin, and myself are currently writing. Charlie and I have been writing music together since high-school but I feel the new songs we’ve been working on are some of our best to date. It definitely feels like there’s something special about this album to us. Read more>>

I would have to say my piece I created for my favorite musician. He goes by Madeon — I’ve been absolutely addicted to his music since I was about 13 years old. A few years back he created a radio show on Apple Music called Good Faith Radio, and for the debut episode he asked for fan-made remixes, songs, and art that reflected his upcoming album at the time. I decided that I was going to illustrate something but ultimately decided to use one of my previous graphite drawings of my own hands; Read more>>

The most meaningful project I have worked on has been a long ongoing project that I started summer of 2021. I have been working on writing my first musical album with artwork to go along with each song. Last summer I felt that I was lacking something in my creative journey so I started the book ‘The Artists Way’ by Julia Cameron, which I highly recommend to anyone wanting to dig deeper into their creative work. Our most meaningful project to date is our recently released debut album, Create The Sun. The album is a blend of spontaneous creation and ideas some of us have had floating around for a long time. To be able to bring our own individual material, styles, and influences to create this very collaborative project as a band was a thrill. The result is an album we are incredibly proud of. This answer changes often for questions like this. Each phase of my life I look back to work I’ve done to inspire me now. My first ever photoshoot was a pivotal one. At that time I only had one light, a sheet for a backdrop. Two of my friends came to my house and we made it a whole production. That was the first time I put a mood board together and executed a photoshoot. It showed me using what I had was enough to at least start somewhere. I gave myself grace knowing it was something new but I was extremely determined to make it happen, to create. That photoshoot is the foundation of my career. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I have worked on is still in progress – I am excited to say I am currently working on my first book – I have secured a publisher, worked countless hours on it, and we’re hoping to go to print soon. The book is a passion project for many reasons, primarily because it allows me to share my story with a world-wide audience. I also love how it gives people an opportunity to own my art if they may be unable to purchase a sculpture. Each piece of art I make as Woolen Witch Crafts is incredibly meaningful, but as a whole I think my most meaningful project is Every Witch Way Denton. It has been almost one year since I coordinated the very first Every Witch Way Market teaming up with some local small businesses and in that time it has organically grown far beyond my expectations! It is so much more than a local market or organization. Read more>>

I have a long list of projects that are significant for me but if i have to choose one it’s definitely my production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. I am very passionate about interdisciplinary arts. This production does exactly that: it is an interdisciplinary dialog between arts and artworks. Together with my creative team we have created a 90s inspired “glass box” where time is suspended. The characters live and relate to each other through addictions, sex, food and pop culture in Madrid in early 90s. Read more>>

The most meaningful project we’ve worked on is the recording of our first EP – Unsavory Attire. We decided we wanted to record the EP before we had played our first live show so we would have a product when we made our debut. It was exciting because the project was growing and blossoming and we felt all the anticipation even though nobody had heard the songs yet. Having known each other throughout the years through different musical endeavors this was our first full on collaboration as a four piece. Read more>>

In my last year at SCAD in 2020, I directed, produced, and worked as the Lighter and Compositor for my six-time award-winning short computer-generated imagery film, “Our House is On Fire,” all while solely managing a team of 26 amazingly talented artists at SCAD. At the time, this film was by far my most meaningful project because, over a course of 10 weeks, my production team came together to educate the world on the damaging and harmful effects of climate change. My motivation as the Director of “Our House is On Fire,” was to create a fact-based short documentary on the harmful effects of climate change and its contributing factors. The film has won 5 awards domestically and 1 international award in India in a course of just 4 months. Read more>>

My most meaningful recent project was my past doctoral recital featuring works by Black composers or poets like Undine Smith Moore, Florence Price, and local Dallas composer Quinn Mason. Now this is surely not a novel concept; however, I intentionally excluded most spirituals as many in the industry like to reduce black composers to spirituals like that’s the only contribution of merit they could muster, but that’s not true! Black music IS classical music. We have always contributed to the genre in some way, increasingly after slaves were freed in America. Read more>>

I’ve had the privilege of working on several meaningful projects, but the one I’m most proud of is La Speranza, the chamber music ensemble I founded in 2016. La Speranza evokes the vibrant life of the past through historically informed performances, and it was born from a passion for playing chamber music on period instruments with my friends. I am an introverted person, so the process of raising money, finding a board, speaking at all the concerts, and finding potential donors was all hugely daunting to me. Over the years, however, I have gained confidence and experience. Passion and love for this ensemble and what we do has motivated me through every challenging time. Read more>>

I recently had the blessing of being part of the official Houston Pride Fashion Show, where I walked for the incredible Mysterious by NPN, and that was definitely a beautiful experience and one of the biggest highlights of this year for me so far. When I moved away from my hometown of South Florida my biggest fear was never being able to connect with the natural terrain where I would be living. I concocted a plan to combat this by turning that fear into a project which was intended to aid in my efforts to integrate and make my new living environment feel more like home. I moved from Miami Florida to Argentina then to Puerto Rico, South Carolina and now Houston Texas. Read more>>

I started painting from mythology because I was fascinated by studying and revealing the stories that were hidden behind the literal and the obvious.. Suddenly one day, my mind and heart went dry. I felt I needed to go further. I needed to go deeper inside. One day I was reading a book about Michelangelo, I took a closer look at the details in his mural in the Sistine Chapel. He painted Adam and Eve with the snake, but I could see he was telling us the wrong story. Read more>>

The most meaningful for me is all content that I make for my brand Local 2 Global. I started L2G in 2017 but it wasn’t until 2018 when we did the first video and since then I’ve been trying to make the next one my best one. My newest one is Wave 11 Out Now releasing 2 new shirts which you can see on the youtube link attached. This is important because I didn’t know what this could be when I started but, since then I feel I’ve created something that can become bigger than myself. Also, because it represents the mindset I have towards everything that I’m pursuing, “LOCAL 2(49) GLOBAL”. Read more>>

I’ve been so fortunate to have many meaningful professional projects in my life, but the one that jumps out the most would have to be my most recent endeavors. I’ve just published my 4th book with West Margin Press – a series of creative, wanderlust travel guide books focusing on 4 different west coast US cities; Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. Since the late 80’s, I have been a member of Spark Gallery, Denver’s oldest cooperative gallery. The gallery gives members an opportunity to mount a yearly exhibition. This has inspired me to create a thematic group of paintings during the year, and to have a vital venue to host an exhibition. The gallery space is split into two parts and I will have the show with another member of Spark. The pairing of artist’s work is always an unexpected surprise; often the work seems as if it was meant to be shown together. Outside of the exhibition opportunity, being a member of Spark has given me a rewarding and supportive group of friends and fellow creatives. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I worked on was definitely my single ” I Wanna Fall In Love” it was so organic and after I released the remix. It opened up more doors for me Rolling Stone picked up the song and they put it in their article. Which lead to the billboard in Times Square. At first I was really afraid to release the song and when I decided to just release it I felt omg I’m not ready yet I don’t think. I just told myself yes I should release it. Read more>>
