Do you remember the moment you realized what you wanted to do professionally? Was it magic? Was it scary? We wanted to hear from some of the most talented artists and creatives in the community and so we asked them to tell us the story of the moment when they knew they were going to pursue a creative career path.

I first wanted to be a writer when I was ten years old. The feel of a pen gliding across the lined page of a journal felt like doing something vital and mysterious. It was intoxicating to take my wild thoughts and unleash them before my eyes in a permanent way. Read more>>

I was blessed to grow up in Chicagoland in the 60s and 70s. Radio stations like WLS and WCFL were ripe with radio talent. I knew with I was 12 that this was what I was meant to do. Right after graduation in 1978, I joined the United States Air Force to become a broadcaster for the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFTRS). That got me started on a 44-year radio career that took me to North Carolina, Ohio, Colorado, Guam, California, Missouri, and finally back home in Indiana. Along the way, I worked in nearly every position in radio except sales. Read more>>

When I was a kid I use to sing stuff off the radio and my sisters always told me I couldn’t sing but one time they said if your going to sing the song at least finish the lyrics. Well they said I couldn’t sing but then I found a record of the rolling Stones and I figured I could sing like that. Then they said The Rolling stones don’t sing good and I figured well maybe you didn’t have to sing the greatest but just had to have some people like you. When I got older I was in a summer work program where they paid us to learn how to act and in the program they gave us writing note books. we use to fake our accents and act like we were the Beatles when we were just hanging out when we weren’t to the acting. One friend said maybe you should write some lyrics so then I started writing lyrics. Read more>>

It was in 2016 in Paris, when I met a director and his wife casting director. They told me they were looking for an actress like me, but for me there was no such thing! I was like, what? Me, an actress? I always loved watching movies but I wasn’t seeing any actresses looking like me. Or it was very rare! So I said no, I probably taught it was a joke. But a few weeks later the director invited me on his set, I remember it was in the streets of Paris, with a view on the Eiffel Tower and that’s when I fell in love. It was so cool to see all those cameras, the crew, and theses beautiful actresses! And there was even food! So I was like that’s it, that’s what I want to do! Read more>>

Playing and creating music always comes easily and fills me with inspiration and a sense of satisfaction. Music is my favorite language. I was 12 when I decided I knew enough about music to quit piano lessons and start teaching myself how to play the guitar that my older sister had abandoned. Read more>>

**I feel like I’ve told this story a thousand times, but it’s important for people to understand this so they understand my journey. I found photography on the day my father passed away, which was 8/19/21. You see, he was the photographer of the family, and so was my grandfather before my dad started. I had a couple of disposable cameras as a kid, but it was never my thing. I never would have believed you if you told me I’d be here doing this. Read more>>

I always knew I wanted to do something artistic with my life, as far back as like 7 years old. I was always asking to do wildly creative makeups for my Halloween costumes, and even went as far as asking to be Freddy Krueger when I was 9 years old! When I was about 10, my mom signed me up for a theater program thinking I was going to follow the path of an actress, but instead I signed up for the make your own puppet class. (she wasn’t really happy about that) Read more>>

I’ve been a horror fan my entire life, but I don’t have a lot of people around me that just enjoy it to the degree I do. Often times I would have to “make” people watch things with me or listen to things I wanted to talk about. All the while knowing they weren’t actually interested. I had done YT before for something else and I thought it would be fun to have a podcast about horror. I quickly realized I really had enjoyed the video component of YT and decided I would do that. I just really wanted a platform to talk about my love for the genre and with any luck I’d make some friends along the way. Read more>>

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From the moment I picked up my first crayon, I knew I had a deep-seated passion for creating. As a child, I’d spend hours sketching and painting, losing myself in the world of art. My entrepreneurial spirit emerged early on too. Even in middle school, I was jotting down business ideas in a note on my phone. The idea of turning my art into a business was always at the back of my mind, waiting for the right moment. Read more>>
