We often hear about bad bosses, but we think it’s important to talk about the good ones because we hope that by giving folks examples of how to be a good boss we can inspire future bosses to be better, to do better for their employees and all stakeholders.

Almost every boss I worked for are woman. As a female creative worker, I feel very lucky that I worked for these people. They have high standards, they are caring, and I learnt a lot from them. I worked as an intern for a lantern company when I just graduated from college. As I didn’t have much work experience , she gives me professional advice on building career path. A boss that stands out in my mind would be Mike “Tattoo” Krausert. He is a creative director, manager etc. with Thirteenth Floor Entertainment. He has many years in the haunted house and entertainment industries and has worked his way up from being a haunted house scare-actor to his directorial positions over the years. I worked with Mike from 2009-2012 at the scare park Spookyworld/Nightmare New England in Litchfield NH. I go by Myles Cordae. My brand and logo is Facin Art. The name Facin, pronounced (fay-sen), Is the nickname mama gave me when I was a baby boy. Before she went home to her new life a few years back , I asked her what that name meant. She told me she liked the way my face looked when I was a a very young child. I started my own business at age 22, so I didn’t have many bosses in my life. I worked odd jobs through school, like cleaning office buildings at night, and being a hotel housekeeper. I remember my boss at my cleaning job would let me work fast so that I could spend the rest of my time on the clock studying for tests and doing homework. One of the last days I was there, before my finals, I remember him saying, “study hard and pass that test. Get out of here and make something of yourself. You weren’t made for this, you were made for big things”. That really stuck with me, because he was one of the very few people who believed in me like that, who encouraged me to chase my goals.
