One of the most important things we think the media can do is connect small business owners and creatives across industries and markets to give them an opportunity to learn form each other. The insights on trends in particular can be transformative if our communities were better connected and so we’ve tried to create a space where folks can share the trends they are seeing and read about trends other sharp entrepreneurs are seeing.

As a photographer and videographer within the wedding industry, I have seen some major shifts in trends in the past couple years. Due to Covid many couples were forced to rethink their big blow-out wedding plans and opt for something smaller and more intimate. Not only does this option cut costs, it also allows the couple to narrow down their guest list to those who they truly want to share the day with; their closest and dearest friends and family ones who will shower them with endless love and support. Copywriting might seem boring to some, but it’s an ever-changing landscape connected to business development, marketing, online society, and even the Metaverse! Only a couple decades ago, marketing and writing was primarily focused on print advertising, but now the internet reigns supreme. This has completely changed the kind of ads people are looking at, what they’re reading, how they engage, and what kinds of content is most appealing. Read more>>

The latest trends I have noticed in the world of vintage is the increase in younger individuals appreciating it. Thrifting and vintage is in style all the way, and social media(especially tiktok and instagram) has exponentially spread the hype. Sharing “thrift hauls” to your friends and followers is a whole thing. 5-10 years ago if you walked into a thrift store you would rarely see someone younger than 30 shopping there. Now, any given goodwill you can find a wide variety of people including much more younger generations, including teenagers with great style. Read more>>

Right now, one of the biggest trends I am seeing in the industry of content creation is authenticity. I have noticed particularly on Tik Tok that more and more creatives, especially creators of color, are building their fan base by simply being themselves. Read more>>

One of the biggest trends I’m seeing in my industry is the need to find the right partner to create custom software for businesses. More and more I’m seeing the need for specific software development created uniquely for a company because using an off-the-shelf version of the software just doesn’t satisfy all of a company’s needs. In the 7 years that I have been doing this, I’ve had the opportunity to see styles and trends change. Its interesting to see what style connects with current generations and become popular again. I love the fact that natural wood is coming back into homes. Its a timeless look and offers so much warmth to a space. Read more>>

The pandemic has changed so much for the marketing industry and most businesses and marketers have now come to terms with the importance of keeping up with the latest digital marketing trends. These trends have been critical to the success of recent marketing campaigns. Some of the biggest trends that I am seeing include: the growth in live content creation, email marketing is here to stay, and TikTok marketing is a great way to build a community. Read more>>

When I started my blog, businesses and publications were eager to reach out and court bloggers and influencers and there were many opportunities. Lots of invitations, events, and paid opportunities. As time went on, the word “influencer” kind of became a dirty word and many of the opportunities that were abundant before kind of dried up. Today, being an influencer looks a lot different. You have to make your own opportunities now. Read more>>

Good advertising captures attention. Attention is captured by creativity. Brands must take their creativity to new heights in order to capture the next generation’s attention. Gen Z is all about unique, memorable, and user-friendly/focused experiences. We’ll pay extra for a cocktail if we know it comes with a “flair,” e.g. smoke or flames, or unique glassware that’s “Instagram-worthy.” Read more>>

I see more couples replacing stale traditions with highly personalized and meaningful moments. For example, a recent couple invited all the mother/son & father/daughter couples at their wedding to join them in those dances. Most of our couples choose to forego a wedding favor that would be forgotten for additional entertainment or a more luxurious dessert at their reception. Making these small substitutions creates a unique and memorable wedding experience for the guests. Read more>>

One of the biggest trends I’m seeing right now is marketing directly in the DMs. With so many privacy regulations popping up, DMs are the best opportunity to get directly in front of people who are your ideal clients. Read more>>
