One of the most important things we think the media can do is connect small business owners and creatives across industries and markets to give them an opportunity to learn form each other. The insights on trends in particular can be transformative if our communities were better connected and so we’ve tried to create a space where folks can share the trends they are seeing and read about trends other sharp entrepreneurs are seeing.

The wedding industry and floral industry run on trends that are constantly shifting. I personally love this about my field as it forces me to keep pushing my creativity! Over the last few years, I have noticed that weddings have continued to shift to more curated, intimate events, especially as we move into a post-covid era. I am just a big fan of micro-weddings and elopements. These micro-events give couples the opportunity to enjoy larger floral pieces and installments rather than spending a majority of their budget decorating dozens of tables . These types of events really allow couples to mindfully create their dream day with their dream team of professionals. Each wedding I am welcomed into is just such a gift. Read more>>

Right now, one of the hottest topics in my industry is the higher mortgage rates. After we saw rates sink below 3% during 2021, having them spike to above 8% just over 2 years later is a big shock for buyers and sellers. You’ll see a lot of doom-and-gloom about this on major media sites, but honestly this creates a lot of opportunity despite some negative effects. Read more>>

In the ever-evolving fashion industry landscape, one of the most intriguing trends I’ve observed is the rise of digital clothing. It’s a fascinating shift that reflects the growing influence of technology and AI in shaping consumer preferences. What’s particularly interesting is the emergence of the metaverse, where people are increasingly drawn to owning digital clothing pieces that exist solely in the virtual realm – a trend that challenges traditional notions of tangible fashion. Most of all I do social media, and as we know it is all about hoping on trends on time, and as many as you can so you can grow your account or sell whatever product you’re selling. Right now the biggest trend I can see on social media is developing a podcast that I think it’s an amazing way to express your point of view and like show people the soul of your business and get to know you a little bit more. as for example, right now, I am working on a tequila brand for a well-known Mexican rapper so my main goal for this account is for people to feel part of the community of this rapper, so my strategy is to make this podcast a drink and answer game so is dynamic for everyone and really fun to watch, without forgetting the main goal that is selling the tequila bottles Read more>>

I think the trend is the trend. I remember a term coined by Shumon Basar in his book with Douglas Coupland & Hans Ulrich Obrist “The Age of Earthquakes”, called “Change Vertigo” which is, in his words, “that unsettling sense of drag where the future arrives at a faster pace than our psychological, emotional and political capabilities can cope with.” And the reflection of that on the cultural landscape is the emergence of an abundance of microtrends online, we’ve had normcore, corpcore, tomato girl summer, regencycore, hot girl dinner, lazy girl job, Barbiecore, and the list goes on. And I think the biggest challenge is being able to keep up. So in an attempt to staying relevant we find ourselves glued to our screens, doomscrolling, and it’s a lot of pressure for many creatives and designers right now. Read more>>

I have seen so many trends flow through the wedding industry, from really warm photos to more timeless + clean edits. The direction I am seeing many photographers shift into has been film and true to color editing styles. I myself favor more cinematic photos, I find that capturing the moment as it’s happening without making adjustments to my clients really creates a movie like picture. Especially with a nice film like edit- I have been complimented on my style and one of the biggest take aways is that people have said you can feel my photos as if they were there living the moment. I really love documenting weddings and couples and thats really my main focus as of right now! Read more>>

One of the biggest trends that I’ve noticed within the content creator space is an emphasis on dynamic storytelling. Having a fully crafted and well thought out plot to your piece, whether it be full-length YouTube videos or 1 minute TikToks, is essential to the success of modern creators. In my niche of Pokémon cards, I’ve noticed the content transform from simple unboxing videos showing the new packs to elaborate challenges, adventures, and fully documented journeys to collect and find new Pokémon cards. I am quickly noticing a trend, especially when I do speed dating events. We break up these events within certain age groups. I have tried a variety of age ranges. And one thing I continuously notice is, young women 21-35 do not have any interest in pursuing these events, yet men 21-35 are showing up in droves, hoping to meet potential mates. On the other spectrum, women 35 and older tickets are selling out, but trying to get men in that same age range to come out is a struggle, every. Single. Time. I have expanded our events to help encourage an all-age environment. We have expanded to speed friending events, where all people (singles, attached, all ages alike) are welcome. We also have singles’ game nights as well, which is an all-ages event as well. All of our dinners are open to all ages, and we have a wide range at every event. Read more>>

I think the biggest trend I’m seeing is candle making classes. I’ve been asked many times to teach these classes but it’s something I’m struggling with. Most of the candle making classes are for vessel based classes with soy wax which are fun classes filled with lots of education. Candle making is a science and it’s easy to learn one form of candle making and attempt to carry it to another wax. Read more>>
