Stories are one of the most powerful ways to learn because they allow us to understand at a deeper level. One of the most important things an business owner can do is help their clients win and so we wanted to create a space where the community can learn from each other’s experiences of how they’ve helped their clients succeed.

In my personal life, I’m an avid hiker and backpacker. Years ago, a friend of mine gave me an extra fleece hoodie from a company that they liked because it had a pinhole in it, and the company, LightHeart Gear, decided to send them a brand new one. Thus, she gave me the one with the pinhole. I absolutely loved the product and ended up making a YouTube video on my personal channel promoting that product. LightHeart Gear saw the video when it received 1.5k views rather quickly, and they asked if they could re-share it. They told me that the video increased their sales significantly. Read more>>

An Ecuadorian-American family approached me for help. Their sister living in Ecuador, was petitioned by their mother, a U.S. citizen, who unfortunately, passed away while the sister was in the process of immigrating to the United States to be reunited with the family. When a petitioner dies, the petition also “dies” and the approved immigrant petition initially allowing the sister to immigrate to the United States, was revoked by operation of law. The family sought my help to allow the sister to continue with the process despite the mother’s death. Read more>>

In 2007, I created my first film, ing. It was a deeply personal project, and to my surprise and honor, it won the Gran Prix at the Asolo International Arts Film Festival in Italy. But the real impact of the film didn’t fully hit me until I heard the story of a man who attended one of its screenings. At a film festival showing, the film’s Director of Photography was in the audience with a young man in his 30s. As the film played, she noted that his were trembling. By the end, he was visibly shaken. Without a word, he left the theater as soon as the credits began to roll. Read more>>

Through my small tutoring business C.E.O. Learning Services, I got to meet an incredibly strong and accomplished older woman, who decided to get a PhD after retirement. This student is a retired registered nurse now working as a school nurse. In her continued search for a challenge, she enrolled in a PhD program. Since enrolling in this program, she had been having issues with navigating the technology and overwhelmed with the volume of work she had to do on the computer. I naturally expected this to be a challenge for me as well, considering it had been quite some time since she went to school. Her frustration with her classes and professors had pushed her to the point of wanting to transfer to a different program. because she was failing the two classes she was enrolled in. Read more>>

Making urns for cremation ashes has become an unexpected component of my woodturning business. I started Renew Turning with the intention of giving storm damaged trees additional life. The name for my company was selected because of this resurrection concept. But I had not considered making urns until a friend asked me to turn one from a special piece of wood for her brother’s ashes. He had died during the COVID lockdown at a nursing home facility and his ashes were mailed from the crematorium. Read more>>

When we started building InvestLink Social, the social networking platform that connects entrepreneurs and investors to assist in business growth and success, we built out our network of industry experts, leading us to a few interesting contacts who were struggling. One in particular was a first-time woman entrepreneur. She had a lifelong passion for animals and would volunteer her time at the local animal shelters. She noticed that many animal shelters were underfunded and lacked the technical abilities to have functioning, up-to-date websites displaying the pets for adoption. She sat on this problem for a while and a light bulb went off, a Tinder-like app for animal shelters. Families who were looking to adopt could download her app and start swiping on pets until they found their furry match. Read more>>
