Stories are one of the most powerful ways to learn because they allow us to understand at a deeper level. One of the most important things an business owner can do is help their clients win and so we wanted to create a space where the community can learn from each other’s experiences of how they’ve helped their clients succeed.

One of our customers (who has become a friend) has a very special pup who had three seizures within two months. The pup’s mom has a degree in natural healing and did her due diligence researching the medications the veterinarian prescribed. The potential side effects are awful and mom did not want to give the medication to her dog! She reached out and asked if we could discuss other options. We had a lengthy discussion about the potential benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) oil and she was willing to try it. The pup has not had a seizure in 5 months. Read more>>

I think in the event planning industry it should be expected for there to be a hiccup from time to time. It happens, and as a Planner, after THAT first time, that time you will never forget, you learn, big time, and find ways to prevent incidents from reoccurring.- it’s all a part of the role. I had some clients (dream clients) once who were super chill, from day one the couple was so kind and easygoing, I thought, this will be a dream event. Everything flowed just right throughout the planning process and then came the event day. I had been working with a local rental company for the couple’s tables, linen, lights, chairs, basically all of the essentials for the event. Long story short, on the day of the event, the rental company didn’t show. I was panicking. At this point in my career, I had never dealt with a vendor just not showing up to an event. Thank god we got the word around noon when load-in for vendors was around 1 and setup needed to be wrapped by 3 pm. It left me with a few hours to go into full operation “don’t F this up”. I called every vendor in the area and even those hours away. I had vendors calling vendors, to help find me someone. I had my assistant on a candle run, since we had zero lighting at this point. I gave her my credit card and she went on dollar-store run for candles so we could dress and light the space. I somehow managed to find someone who was 3 hours away but able to bring almost everything I needed and set everything up with literally 20 mins to spare. It was a vendor I had never worked with before which was risky.. but at this point, could it get any worse? probably not I thought. They showed up, it was the owner, his wife, and kids ( poor things probably dragged from their weekend fun)! This was a mom-and-pop vendor who didn’t have anything in the books for the day so they stopped what they were doing on their Saturday to drive 3 hours to save me from big trouble. I am forever grateful for that and for them. They immediately got to work, setting tables, tables cloths, unfolding chairs, they went as far as to whipe the chairs down and make sure the ceremony lawn was perfectly even, WHAT. Thats un heard of form typical rentle companies. They usually just drop things off and pick them up. So we made it work. Even though I was internally dying, I kept calm and collected, which helped. The guests had no idea anything had gone wrong, the bride wasn’t even aware until after the ceremony. I kept communication with the groom and we got everything set up as expected just in the nick of time. My lesson learned was to one, always have a back up vendor for each of your vendors should things hit the actual fan. Two, stay calm and collected. That was the key to my success, it allowed me to think clearly and keep things at bay. I think my deaminer manifested my good luck with the vendor that came to our rescue. At least that’s the story I tell myself. That event was one I truly will never forget, but im just glad I was able to have a customer success story after all. Read more>>

One of the great joys in my work at Hennepin Theatre Trust is offering tours to clients looking for space at The Hennepin, our event center. Several months ago, I did that for a client who was looking for a 3 day conference in June 0f 2023. I shared how Hennepin Theatre Trust impacts the community through our education and public art departments. We are home to the Best Buy Foundation Art Gallery at The Hennepin and have window displays, exhibits and murals throughout downtown Minneapolis. Our education department works with 8000 high school kids each year to support them in the performing arts. Upon hearing that this is where the proceeds go from our event rentals, the client shared with me that the location of their conference was made. They shared this with me after the conference was over: Read more>>

I recently coached a family of 6 from the United States while they were traveling through South America and Europe for a few months. They reached out to me to help their family communicate better and handle big emotions without so much conflict. They knew that traveling, homeschooling and spending so much time together would amplify these struggles. We met over zoom before they left on their trip, getting to know each other and learning some basic skills. Each time we met over zoom, the family would join in groups of two in three different rooms. I would teach a concept and we’d apply it to situations that had come up that week or that they were anticipating in the future. Sometimes I would coach a family member in front of the others and then bring others on to hear their sides of the story and facilitate a healthier conversation between them or an apology. Other times I would coach 1 or 2 family members privately. Each week they would share a question or problem they were dealing with and we’d discuss it together, learn a skill and apply it. Then, they would practice between sessions and come back to report on progress and get more help. Read more>>

I once had a young girl that was 13 years old come to see me with her mom. She had went to the dermatologist and they immediately wanted to put her on accutane, but they were hoping to avoid medication. I saw her for multiple facial treatments, set her up with at home skincare products, and we discussed other tips/tricks and lifestyle changes to help get her to a point where she was happy with her skin. A few months later, her mom texted me saying how incredible her results have been and her skin was doing so great! I know that can be a rough age and I’m just thankful I was able to guide them in the right direction and help her to be more confident in her own skin! Read more>>
