Our Storytime series is based on the premise that stories are one of the most powerful ways to learn and so this series explores topics we think matter greatly to the success of small business owners and artists and creatives. One of those topics is showing customers that you appreciate them because there is a vast body of research as well as countless anecdotes of how showing customers you appreciate them directly impacts the degree to which your business will succeed and grow. Below, you’ll find stories of how some very talented entrepreneurs have made their clients feel appreciated.

One of my favorite things to do for my clients is to write handwritten notes when we first start working together and seal them with a wax seal stamp that has my logo on it! It feels rare to receive an actual letter in the mail nowadays, so the excitement of seeing something that isn’t a bill AND has a unique element like the wax seal is something my clients have loved and I love taking the time to make them and write a personalized letter! I also offer a loyalty program for return clients as a thank you for continuing to trust me and allowing me to support them with their style needs – and who doesn’t want more outfit ideas when you’re looking for style support?! One of the most fundamental truths is that everyone wants to be seen, everyone wants to be heard and everyone wants to be loved. At the heart of our photography studio are our clients – people who are celebrating or honoring some seminal part of their lives. The great thing about being a barber, is this (hopefully) happens all day, every day. I love to send a REAL card and gift to show appreciation to my clients who have been “the best” to work with and made it easy! They aren’t expecting it, and most often are really expressive and appreciative of the gesture. I have had clients call or message to say thank you. I have had clients post a photo and shown their appreciation with a lovely post on social media. Read more>>

At my previous in office position, I would coordinated and market many events for our residents and others in the surrounding community. Our community was also so generous in donation drives and bringing us gifts to show their appreciation so this was a way I could thank them back. Whether we hosted a food truck, a pool party or even delivered homemade cookies to doors…it was the little things they loved the most. Read more>>

Our customers are the reason that I have been able to follow and share my passion with the community. We have done a variety of different things throughout the years to show our appreciation. In addition to customer appreciation week, we have also given random gifts to those that are the most invested in our business as well as to those that pump us up on social media regularly. In 2023, we are launching a members-only lecture series featuring topics important to parents such as nutrition and developmental milestones. Read more>>

This is a vital part of my business without my customers there is no business. My motto is your business is our business. I take that to heart when taking on a new client. I need to be as passionate about their business as they are. I want them to know their baby is safe in my hands. We make recommendations to our clients on how to improve their footprint on social media and listen to their ideas as well. At the end of the day it’s about teamwork to accomplish the goals.
