Kymberly Garza

From the start, I wanted a meaningful name for my boutique. After a few name changes I decided to name it Majaki Boutique. In our household, there are 3 females, my mom, Maria, my sister, Jakeline, and me, Kymberly (Kikis). Everytime one of us is going out, we go to each other for advice on our outfits or borrow each other’s apparel. We first, try the outfit we had in mind, and when we are indecisive on what’s throwing the outfit off we go to each other for advice. Read more>>

Absolutely! Crafting a business name is indeed a challenge. “EscapewithTammyEvents” wasn’t just a name for me; it was a reflection of my journey from being the go-to event organizer in my personal circles to embracing it as a profession. The term “Escape” embodies the essence of the transformative and immersive experiences I aim to create. “Tammy” adds a personal touch, symbolizing the dedication and meticulous planning I bring to every event and travel experience. Latoya Doyley

Omg my thoughts exactly. Honestly, since my Buisness was a clothing brand , I had to come up with something that was cool and looked good on a Tshirt . I couldn’t think of a one when I initially started so I just used my initials of my full name LTD. Which actually stands for Latoya Tsheyka Doyley. Then put the creations behind it . Kinda of like Latoya’s creations . Crazy thing is most people thought LTD stood for limited and would say limited creations instead of staying each letter . After that the rest was history and LTD creations was born. Read more>>

Jindo is music bingo. So, the game and company name had to have a similar feeling and “shout-ability” to bingo. I also thought it made sense to have 5 letters since a traditional bingo card has 5 columns with one letter over each. I tried different combinations of DJ/Music + Bingo, like: Djingo, Mingo and Mungo but they all just sounded like exotic animals, lol. Ironically, a Jindo is also a South Korean dog breed that is super cute! Read more>>

I have always felt it is important for people to know what your business is about by its name. I know there are big brands out there that go against this mindset, but for smaller, personal, or family run businesses, it helps with marketing and bringing attention to your needed demographics. Owning a sportscard business it was paramount to include those words in our title. We also needed a differentiator that had a personal touch to it. I co-own the business with my girlfriend, Jennifer. My daughter and I started this little tshirt business out of a 10×10 from in my home. I received a silouette for Christmas from my husband in 2019 and began to play around with it. We pressed all the Tees ourselves, my name is Natalie and my daughter was beautiful! Read more>>
Hallie Endresen, Hailey Grillo N/A

We started our brand while we were still in high school, living with our parents. We needed a place to store all of this amazing vintage clothing we were finding, and the shed in Hailey’s backyard had some storage room for us to use. Hailey had a couch in there and a television, she would hangout with her friends in there in early high school like a little clubhouse. It ended up becoming like a miniature warehouse for all of our vintage inventory. We thought of the name Shedhead because we started out in a little shed! Read more>>

I wanted to name this business something that was symbolic of “joy”. While researching different words, animals, and symbols, I found that pink roses symbolize playfulness, joy, and femininity. I loved the idea of using the word Rosa, which means “rose”. After deciding this, I realized something else. For years, I’ve repeated this statement to myself: “Everything you need to flower is already inside of you.” This statement has become the tagline, and heart and soul, of my business. Read more>>

When I first started Bare Minimum my goal was to have just that: the bare, raw clay and let those be the focal points of my work. I wanted to have minimalist glazes and a bare-bones style, something that reflected where I was at in my own life. There was no agenda, no final destination. Just me and my clay. As I have evolved as an artist and human, I’ve found that my style nowadays tends to lead towards the opposite of minimalism. Read more>>

Great question, and I love sharing the story behind The Worker’s Workshop! One key lesson from past business ventures I learned was that putting my name on the marquee might not be the best strategy for long-term growth. I wanted something that would endure beyond me and didn’t have to take much time with finding a solution. Read more>>

I came up with the Brand name ITSOKAY (one word) in the Fall of 2017 in the bedroom of my parents house in San Diego California. I was 20 Years old at the time pursuing a Degree in Computer Engineering while working a full time Job in a corporate office as a Talent Coordinator. While at the time, the money was great for my demographic, I felt like I wasn’t fully satisfied with where I was at in life, granted I was in the process of obtaining a degree that would allow me access to do what I thought was my life goal; Computer Engineering, something still felt off. When I first launched my event production company, I named my business after a word I liked: bonafide, aka “bona fide,” which means “in good faith” in Latin.
