The biggest lessons from my training weee my awarenesses that traditional medicine did not have all the answers. I always asked why and the answer was “this is just how we do it!”. It led initially to frustration and then to a insatiable curiosity to learn alternative healing modalities. In 2002 I received an undergraduate degree in Communications. Although I found some success working in marketing and advertising, everything changed in 2004 when my twin sister was almost killed during her combat deployment. Through the experience as a caregiver and interfacing with the military system, I knew I wanted to be a social worker one day. I was able to earn my masters degree in social work (much later) in 2013. Read more>>

My time in college had 3 phases, my freshman year, 3 years in the school of hard knocks and then 3 years back to complete my bachelor’s degree. Each phase taught me important life lessons. At the end of my freshman year, I dropped out of college. My mother received a job opportunity to move to Seoul, Korea to open a skin care salon where she was to be the primary aesthetician.
