Michelle Mckenzie

While attending Aesthetician School in 2010, I had a fabulous instructor who instilled something in me that I still practice to this day. Every morning the class had to practice our “O.P.O.’s”. Ms Martha calls it being Other People Oriented. We’d have to stand up and greet each other with a handshake while looking eachother in the eyes & say “Good Morning or hello & how are you?” and wait for the response. That daily practice became something that I naturally do while grocery shopping or walking down the halls at work. I did all of my courses except for esthetics online during covid. Which actually worked out for me, because I work better alone and in my home environment. It was an amazing experience, especially looking inward and also realizing how much people need these healing modalities because of the pandemic. For four years I studied Ayurvedic Medicine at Alandi Ashram & Ayurveda Clinic in Boulder, CO. I was completely immersed in all aspects of Ayurveda training and Ashram living. From spiritual ceremonies to seeing patients in our low-income targeted clinic, I was honored to study under my guru, Alakanada Ma. This is where I received my spiritual name in the lineage of the Amethyst of the Heart. It was an honor to receive the name Prema Shakti, which can be translated to “Love Power”. Read more>>
