It’s a work of heart. Becoming a Home-birth Midwife is so easy feat. I am doing the self- lead PEP Process through NARM and Apprenticeship. Life as an on-call 24/7 apprentice midwife means I need to be ready at all hours of the day/night and be well prepared to drop what I’m doing and go, never knowing how long you’ll be gone. Your support system needs to be strong, especially if you have a family of your own. Communication and setting expectations are a huge component to keeping a family/work balance. Read more>>

Truly, I feel like experience is just as important as education. Especially when you’re applying what you learned. Read more>>

I attended the Cincinnati School of Medical Massage Therapy in 2000. I enjoyed the experience and I thought the teachers were very knowledgeable and their passion for massage therapy was evident. The training and schooling we receive as chiropractors is often underestimated by the general public. I’ve been asked, on multiple occasions, if it’s an associates degree program when it is in fact a doctorate program! Most chiropractic schools offer 4 year programs which are sometimes condensed into 10 trimesters (3 years 4 months). A majority of qualified applicants either have a Bachelor’s degree and have taken a specified list of pre-requisites or they have taken enough credit hours and prerequisites to complete a bachelor’s alongside the doctorate. The first year or so of chiropractic school looks very similar to medical school. Read more>>
