Social media can be a really powerful way to connect with and build deeper relationships with your audience – but it can be extremely time consuming. So, we asked some folks we admire to share how they manage their social profiles and whether they’ve hired professionals to help.

I manage my own social media. When I started it didn’t occur to me that such a thing as social media managers existed. I was just an illustrator wanting to post my art and give people the chance to see it. But social media can be hard so I started taking classes. The first on I took was on instagram and it changed how I thought about what I was posting and the purpose of social media. Since them I’ve taken more classes and learned more about social media marketing. Now I really enjoy working on my social media. It’s like a creative project of its own. Read more>>

Social media management, marketing, and advertising is extremely important for businesses. Presently, the world thrives and heavily depends on social media to gain knowledge, meet new people, connect with friends, receive business information and more. As a business owner, I have made the decision to manage my social media pages. I have interns that assist in developing quality content to post. However, I approve all content that is distributed on all business platforms, before being posted. Read more>>

I am the entire operation system of my business including my social media. My business is very personal to me so I’ve decided to run my social media on my own. It’s been a long and difficult road but I’ve learned so much along the way. For me social media has really been a tool to create my brand and get it out to the world. It has allowed me to test different ideas and grow in so many ways. Running it on my own has forced me to become a marketer, salesman, photographer, videographer, editor, writer, and so much more. I hope to build up my team down the road so I can focus more on what I’m truly best at and love doing which is art. Read more>>

Since the beginning of my small business journey, I have taken on the job of managing my own social media accounts. Throughout the years, I have grown a following on Instagram and a smaller following on TikTok. I made the choice to take it upon myself, because I am a perfectionist and very picky. So far, the results have been great and I am actually very close to hitting 2000 followers, which is a major milestone for myself. A lesson I have learned throughout the years that I would like to share with other business owners is that consistency is key and you just have to keep posting every day no matter what, it will all pay off in the end. I manage my own Facebook and Instagram pages. I’m new to this so I don’t have the funds or resources to hire anyone at the moment. It can be challenging to have to do it all by yourself but just know your reward is waiting for you. I have had great results with just these two platforms. Read more>>

Social media is not my strength. I don’t see it as the best use of my time and for me it is very taxing energetically. I respect the importance of it to visually communicate and give people a peak inside our world, but it is just not something that comes easily to me. I have help from a friend who is great at it and it is easy for her. She understands my voice and aesthetic. What I do is personal and unique to me so portraying that through the screen is important. I handle my own social media. Shanelle Ja’Boa (Shanelle J Studio) creates all of my marketing flyers and I use Meta Business to set up and pre-schedule them in advance. It’s so much more convenient than trying to remember to post content daily. I like to handle and run my own social media because I like to interact with my followers, I want them to know their travel agent, create a connection and or bond. I love how technology has increased and allowed free time, but I still want to be hands on in my business. Read more>>

I have been working in the social media marketing industry for years, so I am running our socials for the podcast at this time, while my friend and co-host, Sannah handles editing our audio and video for the show. I truly enjoy running our socials and interacting with our community, however; I would eventually like to be able to hire some part-time help with marketing — only because it can be time consuming, and I would absolutely love to not be glued to my phone all the time. Ha! Read more>>

When I first started writing, I managed everything myself – even though I wasn’t very good at it. I made the best of what I could create and tried to ignore the fact that it wasn’t as pretty or creative as what I was seeing from other authors. Now, 12 years in, I haven’t given up completely, but I do have a team who helps me manage it. I can handle running my Facebook pages/profiles/and groups, but I need a team for the rest. The decision to let go of the control was primarily based on the fact that I know my limits and handling all of the social media platforms AND trying to write a book wasn’t something I could balance. I actually do not. I run all of my social media accounts. I never thought about having a company or team manage my business accounts. I’ve been doing great so far doing it on my own.. I have been getting discovered by multiple well known names/companies! For right now, I believe I will keep the same way but I am open to networking with others in the social media world. Read more>>
