Social media can be a really powerful way to connect with and build deeper relationships with your audience – but it can be extremely time consuming. So, we asked some folks we admire to share how they manage their social profiles and whether they’ve hired professionals to help.

A little bit of both! Because I originally started ST Creative Branding in the social media management space, I know just HOW much work goes into managing a brand’s social media pages and online presence. I have found that my brand’s online visibility is at it’s best when I use a team to carry out the basic functions (putting together repeating series posts and scheduling them, hashtag research, engagement, etc.) but remain heavily involved in the content and design aspect of things (posting calendar, content creation, graphic design, etc.). Social media has been the key to the growth of our nonprofit. I have managed our social media from the beginning and plan on continuing to manage it into the future. Social media allows us to reach a wider pool of donors, volunteers, and supporters. We are able to share our mission and our stories with people all around the world on a daily basis and reach people who truly care about our work. Read more>>

Since starting Sunset Skin last December I knew I needed help. I transitioned my mobile spray tan business into Sunset Skin, a full spa. I knew I needed help now losing my followers, making sure it was an easy switch. I found Caroline during the pandemic, on a deep rabbit hole on how to do better with social media. Caroline lives in Alabama and does everything for me from there. She takes my post ideas and makes sure they are perfect. She puts together 2-3 weeks of social media posts at a time saving me lofts of time. She is able to find my voice in her own words. Read more>>

I currently manage all of our social media accounts myself. From posting on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and even on Tik Tok it can be exhausting. Although it is very stressful I feel it is so important to be posting across all the platforms. I do have a passion for creating content and connecting with our followers but it can definitely be overwhelming at times. My advice would be to not get discouraged when it comes to engagement or growth, it takes time. Read more>>

Prior to opening my business I had been away from social media platforms. I reopened my social media accounts when I started my business and it has definitely been difficult. I do still manage my own social media and enjoy learning about it each day. Read more>>

I actually manage my own social media. When I first started using them it was just to keep in contact with everyone! I don’t think anyone realized how big these social media platforms could get or would get and I was always creative outside social media so I started posting a bunch of photography I would take and it just took off from there!! And I used to want someone to manage my accounts but then as a creative it takes away from you “yourself” your vision and I think it can hurt a artist in that way.. It’s like taking your creative ability away and placing it in someone’s hands. Read more>>

We do it all. From coming up with the ideas, to creating the content to editing and posting we do all of it ourselves. When we started we had no clue how to take pictures and make YouTube videos, but with some time and practice, we’ve figured it out, and I’d say we’ve become pretty good at it! In the past we’ve hired (very experienced and talented) videographers and photographers to help us. We thought that if we could have someone else film and edit Read more>>

As for my social media, I manage it myself. Trust me it is a tedious thing to do as I’ve had a mentor to help me with gaining more traffic and potential clients by explaining to me the importance of different techniques that will help my social media platform to become even more successful. I manage my own social media for the most part. I do have a handful of people who will volunteer their help on ocassion but none of us are getting paid for our efforts. We simply do what we can to serve our community while combating misinformation, internet trolls, so on and so forth. Read more>>

Yes. I manage my social media. & it has been so challenging trying to keep up with posting on social media as well as perform my services & run a business. But I love the challenge. I love creating my educational graphics as well as editing the reels/videos for my feed. I’m so picky when it comes to certain things so I don’t think I’d ever be able to hand the reins over to someone else to run my social media pages. Read more>>
