It is my opinion that the universal recipe for actors to get a real shot at a career is to find representation. At least it has been the case in my experience. After I graduated from acting school, I was living in Paris and went on an agent quest. I called a few places, but all of them had a young woman answer the phone with the same line: “sorry, we aren’t looking for new talent at this time”. So I went on IMDB to scavenge agents I thought would be great to collaborate with. On my way to one of the top three agencies, I asked this beautiful ginger lady on the street if she could point me in the right direction, which she did. I walked up to the front desk and was now able to put a face on the voice I’d previously heard over the phone. Read more>>

When I was 15, I already knew I wanted to be a music composer and write soundtracks for films, I met my friend’s mom, she was a successful screen writer in France. She was represented by a very inspiring agent, she would often talk about her. Her name is Sévane. She also represented music composers. My friend’s mom took me one weekend from Paris to Barcelona to met one of them, Anahit Simonian, in order for me to ask for piece of advice to a professional. I loved her work and was very impressed by her career and her music. I remember playing my compositions to her on her piano so she could give me advice and insight. Read more>>

While I’ve never had an agent I have had a manager which, for a writer, is probably equally as powerful in terms of just having someone to help get your work out there and get you meetings and so on. I got signed by Zero Gravity Management which is a rather large management firm in Los Angeles. The way it all came about was basically because I was included on an email chain by a producer with whom I had had some dealings about a script I had written a few years earlier. I wasn’t supposed to be on the email chain as it was about something totally unrelated to me or any of my work and I was clearly just a fat finger addition to the email chain. Read more>>

Well, over the past 6 years I’ve booked some amazing projects without having an agent or manager. Actually, my very first National commercial in 2014 was a self book for “Swiffer Sweep & Trap” ( I booked it without an agent or Mgr ). I was satisfied with self booking until I realized that I would need an agent in order to book more larger paying projects. Let’s just say ..Big commercials pays BIG Bucks … lol. I recently decided to signed with Pantheon Management Partners for commercial & Theatrical representation. It’s a lot involved when it comes to negotiating contracts and making sure that I’m paid what I’m suppose to be paid and on time. I’m happy to have an agent to look out for me, because when I make money my agent makes money . I had my first theatrical audition for a major role a few days ago and I’m currently in a National commercial for “ Always Discreet” … thanks to my agent! I’m looking forward to this new beginning and can’t wait to see what my future holds. Read more>>

One of the good things that happened during the Strike is that I just signed with an amazing theatrical agency, Eris Talent. I’m so happy. I know most people told me it would be really hard to find an agent during a time where the industry had other important priorities, but i think being genuine and vulnerable really helped with my search. Also, I am so thankful for my dearest friend, mentor, and acting coach, Arye Campos. Without her support and friendship this wouldn’t be possible. Including this interview (hahaha). Read more>>

My band Black Crystal Wolf Kids signed with an agent in 2021 after being a band for almost 15 years. I thought that it was like a pinnacle of where we were headed as a band and was so excited to work with him. He and I ended up having very different philosophies of how the band should be making money and where to put our resources, and we split amicably earlier this year. I learned a TON about negotiation from him and am forever grateful for the experience of working with an agent — I’d love to find someone I’m a bit more aligned with in the future. Read more>>

This year has been the most life-changing year in my career. Last year in September, I got my artist visa approved, moved to New York City, booked my dream job and recently, got signed with an agency. Growing up in a small country called Estonia, all these achievements once felt like unreachable dreams, but I am proud to say that today I am living those dreams. I have always been hard-working and knowing my goals as a professional dancer. The journey has definitely not been easy, especially moving from overseas, having no visa, no contacts, no nothing, but any of that was never an excuse for me and there is always a way if you really want it. I am grateful that my hard work has been noticed and signing with an agency feels still unreal and it is a very big dream come true. Read more>>
