I had no clue how anything worked. For some reason, the entertainment industry is so full of people knowing exactly what to do and how it works, but no way to tell you how to practically take those steps. “Get an agent” then you’ll be ok. “Sign with this agency,” “do this to standout,” yada yada yada. Much of the insecurity brooding inside of artists stems from a lack of access to value-rich networks and opportunities. I’ve always believed in my writing and known that eventually I’d attract likeminded people who care deeply about their respective craft as well. My my first job with them was walking in New York Fashion Week. The designer reached out to the agency looking for models specifically with tattoos. This was my fist time walking in Fashion Week and getting a real first hand experience. When I took the leap of moving to New York with the goal of being signed within the first few months… oh how naive I was. It took me 3 years to an agency. I did have a helping hand with that. I signed with Stewart Talent Chicago on January 8th, 2021 as a model! When I was young I would watch “Americas Next Top Model” and would practice my walk in my moms heels. A lot of friends and people in my life always told me I should look into modeling but I never thought I had what it takes. I didn’t think more deeply about modeling until the end of 2020. During the pandemic, I did a lot of self reflecting about my future, my talents and who I wanted to be. On a whim, I applied online to three modeling agencies in Chicago, (Stewart being one of them) and I got an email back the next day! Read more>>
