Today we’d like to introduce you to Tory Scroggins
Hi Tory, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I became a makeup artist in my teens stemming from an interest in beauty and fashion photography. I did makeup for Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child Usher and others before I started studying acting and doing theatre. For the most part after that my focus has been on acting but about 5 years ago I started wearing nail polish and began getting offers to do social media PR for several nail polish brands. I always thought it would be cool to be able to make my own colors and so I learned how through YouTube and finally started my own brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far my journey as a nail polish brand has been pretty smooth but of course there have been learning curves. My recent launch exceeded my expectations so I’m learning how to stay ahead of the demand.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My company vivTORYus nail polish brand is a line of vegan, handcrafted, bold colors designed for self expression. The are non binary and unisex colors neither masculine nor feminine. Just unique and individual like us.
How do you think about happiness?
I’m very proud of myself for stepping out and taking a chance on myself. It makes me happy seeing people wearing my polish all over social media.
