Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiziana Gouveia Tamara Schindler.
Hi Tiziana Gouveia , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The idea GAEA DESIGN started in 2015 (then under the name Cake & Confetti Events) and we went online on February 14th 2016 targeting initially the national market in Switzerland. We realized very fast that there is a demand for destination weddings in the Swiss Moutains and we started targeting couples that appreciate Swiss Nature at its best.
In 2018 Tiziana became a mom and the season of 2018 was challenge to say the least, with her baby always on site, she realized that she needs a partner. Tamara got married with GAEA DESIGN in 2018 and the two realized that this was not a normal client – planner relationship but that it was more a collaboration of two liked minded women – so they decided to partner up and have been inseparable since then – surviving the pandemic, a second baby and many wonderful and crazy events.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
the pandemic was for sure a challenge since we are targeting couples that choose destination weddings. but it also gave us the opportunity to refocus, rebrand (In 2020 we changed from Cake and Confetti Events GAEA DESIGN because we outgrew the old name and we are happy every since with it – identifying a lot with the greek mother goddess of the earth).
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a full services agency that offers event planning, decorative and floral services (we create complete concepts incl. lights, entertainment, stationery design and floral design) and set-up, dismantle and coordinate full productions on site. In our team we have artists like illustrators, graphic designers, florists and planners.
We are most proud of our unique and especially cohesive designs – we love that we can create a fil-rouge that can also go through a multi day event and spread its wings in all kinds of aspects of an event: not just the visual like decor and florals, but also in aspects like the presentation of the food, outfits of staff, entertainment artist, perfumes, guest gifts, music etc.
Any big plans?
We are planning to expand to share our experience and expertise through an online masterclass that will offer group classes, lessons and 1:1 coaching.
Furthermore our goal for the future is on one hand to offer BtoB services with a holistic approach. This will involve addressing not only the obvious physical senses but also integrating what, for some, flows through the sixth sense. This has become incredibly important for us in a holistic context because events should not solely be experienced through sight, sound, or taste (flavor), but in a way that touches the deeper, more intuitive layers of perception.and offer retreats for entrepreneurs that lead their businesses wholeheartedly and offer a spiritual experiences with the goal of refocusing, gaining energy and motivation for their path in the future.
