Today we’d like to introduce you to Raquel Arnette.
Hi Raquel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Raquel Arnette, the founder of RA ImageZ. My journey began as a passionate hobbyist with a camera in hand, capturing everyday moments that told their own unique stories. Over time, what started as a simple curiosity evolved into a deep love for photography and storytelling.
Since I was a child, I’ve been captivated by videography and photography. My creative and visual nature led me to explore the art behind movies and visual storytelling from an early age. I immersed myself in art classes from elementary school through high school, where my passion for photography truly began to flourish. This interest carried me into college, where I honed my craft even further, earning an AA in Photography alongside a BA in Business Administration.
I spent years learning the craft—experimenting with different techniques, embracing challenges, and continually pushing myself to see the world through a more creative lens. I knew early on that my work could inspire and empower others, and that realization drove me to turn my passion into a career.
Founding RA ImageZ was a pivotal moment for me. It gave me the freedom to blend artistry with professionalism, allowing me to capture authentic moments while exploring new creative frontiers. Today, RA ImageZ stands as a testament to my journey—a reflection of hard work, constant growth, and a relentless commitment to making every shot count.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were many hurdles along the way. In the early stages of my career, I faced creative blocks and bouts of self-doubt that made me question if I was on the right path. Funding my passion was a constant struggle—balancing odd jobs to invest in equipment and courses while trying to build a portfolio was incredibly challenging.
Learning to navigate the business side of the creative world was another steep learning curve. I had to quickly become well-versed in marketing, client management, and financial planning, all while trying to perfect my craft. There were moments when the pressure to merge my artistic vision with practical business needs felt overwhelming, and rejections from clients or missed opportunities left me feeling discouraged.
Yet, every setback taught me resilience and pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. These experiences, as tough as they were, ultimately shaped me into the artist and entrepreneur I am today, and I wouldn’t trade those lessons for anything.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in photography and videography, and I’m known for capturing unique moments that transform into lasting memories. I’m incredibly proud to have documented pivotal historical events that have shaped our culture. For instance, I had the privilege of capturing the first-ever WNBA Aces championship parade in Las Vegas—a moment filled with energy and celebration that I’ll never forget. I was also there during the landmark moment when cannabis became legal, even documenting former Mayor Oscar Goodman purchasing legal cannabis. One of my most memorable experiences was covering Hillary Clinton’s historic win in the Nevada primaries back in 2016; I was on the ground, capturing the passionate energy and support of her voters.
What sets me apart is my versatility. I seamlessly move from shooting high-profile political events to covering dynamic fashion shows, exhilarating sports events, engaging podcasts, live concerts, and even vibrant parties. This adaptability allows me to bring a unique perspective to every project, no matter the setting or subject.
These history-making events are more than just assignments to me—they are milestones in my journey as an artist. Each moment I capture is a testament to my commitment to preserving the essence of our times, and I feel incredibly honored to have witnessed these once-in-a-lifetime experiences firsthand.
