Today we’d like to introduce you to Raditia Lasry.
Hi Raditia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As I reflect on my forty-five years of life, I realize that my story is not defined by a single moment or situation. Rather, it is a collection of diverse experiences and explorations that have brought me to where I am today. It is only upon looking back that I am able to recognize how each small step I took played a crucial role in shaping my journey and led me to my current position of teaching mindfulness and raising awareness about the incredible impact of human life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My story isn’t a straight line, nor do I believe anyone’s life is without turns and stops. Looking back, I see different moments in my life that inspired and influenced me to be where I am today, including moving away from where I grew up across the ocean, losing a job of six years, receiving a bachelor’s degree in my late thirties, and writing a book about exactly this story of my life and how everyone’s story describes a direction where we could be heading.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love this question; we all have something we are good at and can make a difference in other people’s lives. This is what I discovered as I embarked on being a Mindfulness Teacher. Sometimes, our jobs aren’t found in a catalog or at a job fair. Sometimes, it finds us. On my particular path, I realized that I was always interested in people, their behaviors, and tendencies. What probably sets me most apart is that I’ve been watching and observing people without judgment for as long as I can remember. I’ve been practicing being uncomfortable in conflict in many different situations, which led me to use mindfulness to help others move through challenging and discomforting moments with less judgment. In every moment of discomfort lies an opportunity for growth and connection. As a mindfulness teacher, I am dedicated to guiding others through these moments with compassion and understanding, helping them find peace within themselves and harmony in their interactions with the world
Any big plans?
I recently released my book, ‘Be Human, Be Happy, Be YOU!,’ and my mission for the future is to share my journey of integrating mindfulness into everyday life with a broader audience. I’m passionate about helping people recognize the value of mindfulness and how it can enhance their lives. I plan to explore various avenues, such as workshops, speaking engagements (schools, libraries, nature parks, publicly accessible places), and online platforms, to spread this message. My approach focuses on making minor adjustments that have a significant impact, fostering a deep connection with our body, mind, and life force—the breath. Join me on this journey towards greater awareness and vitality as we navigate life with mindfulness.
