Today we’d like to introduce you to Philip Stewart.
Hi Philip, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As cliche as it sounds, I started young with heavy influence through my mother. In high school, I did a couple competitions. my teacher Mrs. Jennifer Parks, put me in contact with my chef, Vince Scherry. I credit him with the foundation of my technique and approach. He helped me understand restaurant quality food verse in-home cooking. While working, I went to college and became certified. Fast forward 10+ years, I own a private catering business, I’m the executive Chef at El Rey Ranch, and also the in-cabin dining Chef in conjunction with Mountain Man Meat Market here in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. We indulged our high-end guest with memorial food and service.


I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth journey. Biggest challenge is going into an environment not knowing what utensils and tools area available and still being able to carry out an unforgettable night. So, you’re always dealing with the challenge of adapting and progressing to ensure our guest are extremely satisfied, also to better ourselves. This business comes with its ups and downs, but I think that’s why I enjoy it. It’s a constant test to push oneself and continue to strive to be better.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As stated before, I’m a private chef here in Broken Bow Oklahoma and also Arkansas. We’re know for great quality food and exceptional service. Our guest are able choose their entrées and we come prepare your meal in your cabin. We set up everything from white tablecloths to serving the meal. Our clients are able to sit back and enjoy time with their significant others while not having to stress about a great meal. Proud of the service we’re able to provide and the support of our guest.
I’ve said it before customer service is essential, definitely believe that what sets us apart.
Any big plans?
We have exciting plans for the future! Lots of ideas and kinks to work out but once they happen, everyone will know. As for now you’ll have to follow our journey and see!
