Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Litten
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Wahid, http://drsatl.com, and I are super stoked to be celebrating our 6th anniversary of having stimulating conversations on Ride The Vibe. The last 5 years have been focused on promoting musicians and their original music. We have been blessed to have had guests join us from Canada, St. Croix, Ireland, France, UK, Scotland, Turkey, Finland, Japan, South Africa and a myriad of states here in America. We have chatted with and shared the music of over 150 musicians, highlighting close to 1000 of their original songs. A great majority of these introductions have come from the amazing one of a kind Lucy Piller, www.allrightnow.com.
Thanks to the great suggestion from Jason Chapman, the bass player for www.squawkmusic.com, in celebration of our anniversary we have created Ride The Vibe playlists for both Spotify and Rhapsody/Napster. We did our best to find songs from all of our guests focused on those songs we featured on our show.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t a struggle but it definitely was an interesting journey to find our current audio podcast format. Along the way, we broadcast in an FM live format and we had a Facebook live video format. Bless fully both those iterations brought us where we are today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Ride The Vibe is a podcast, hosted by Michael Litten, “The Last DJ” and Wahid Gomes, http://drsatl.com.
The show features an “old school” listening party format. We encourage listeners to sit back with a glass of their favorite beverage, while we play a sample of the guest’s original songs and then chat with them about all things music, think digital liner notes. The show features a wide range of local, national and international artists.
In the studio we enjoy Cathead Distillery, www.catheaddistillery.com and Drinkmate, www.drinkmate.us beverages.
What were you like growing up?
I was very outgoing and always on the move, yet I relished my alone time. My family moved a myriad of times during my formative years, due to my father’s climb up the corporate ladder. All of the different cities helped to shape the person I have become, but one location Lafayette, CA, just north of San Francisco, stands above the rest, as it was there I developed my passion for music. And, what a place to be in the late 60’s early 70’s to experience the musical explosion.
