Today we’d like to introduce you to Marzena Castillo.

Hi Marzena, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

My story starts in 2003 when I came to Chicago. As a little girl, I was always dreaming about visiting the USA and living here. I loved watching American movies and shows, and was obsessed with music videos and everything that was made in the USA. I worked as a waitress at the beginning of my American journey. Then, I became a certified fitness instructor. I enjoyed that job a lot. I met a lot of amazing people while teaching classes. Then, in 2019, I became a realtor. I enjoy my work so much. Helping my clients get from point A to point B is the biggest reward I could get.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

Life is not easy therefore of course, there are always some bumps on the road. Those bumps and obstacles never really bothered me. I learned how to not lose focus and not let the “noise” distract me. I think I taught my brain to stay positive no matter what. So, if I don’t get a listing or my offer is rejected, I never take it personally. I believe there is an abundance of possibilities, and if something didnt work out, there must have been a reason for it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I am a realtor at the Baird & Warner office in Geneva, Illinois. I work with sellers, buyers, and investors. Most of my clients come from referrals and open houses. I am very happy for staying consistent in my work and my outreach to my clients. I experienced very pushy sales people in my life, therefore I stay away from being pushy and would rather come from a place of service and help.

How do you think about happiness?

What makes me happy???? So many things, like being awake in the, having the energy to go to the gym, the smell of freshly brewed coffee, my healthy boys, my clients, sunshine, rain, my dog, my running car. Really, I am very happy I have so much because I know there are tons of people that don’t have half of what we have.
