Josie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

I started my High=Profile Nanny journey by working in the childcare industry, as an Infant/Toddler Teacher. I always knew I wanted to work with children and having embarked on so many different careers journeys, childcare was the only one I was passionate about. It was truly my life calling! I literally woke up one day (not even being dramatic, haha) and decided to take my Celebrity Nanny journey to another level. I created a nanny guide filled with everything I knew about being a High-Profile Nanny. I wanted to teach other nannies how they can elevate their careers financially that were struggling to make a livable wage, or nannies that were curious on how to become a six-figure nannies. My Six-Figure Nanny Mentorship business helps nannies and former childcare workers how to navigate the ultra-high net-worth industry. That’s where I’m at now and it makes me feel as if I am fulfilled and living more within my purpose. Not only am I still a Celebrity Nanny, but now, my team and I are able to assist others on how to become celebrity nannies as well. I got here by taking a chance on myself, by betting on myself. There’s no reward without risk and even though I would receive one hundred no’s before getting a single yes, I continued on my path, I kept with the journey, and it’s truly paid off.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

It has not been a smooth road trip at all. There’s so many ups and downs, unknowns, and the process to becoming a High-Profile Nanny is definitely a long one. There’s so much that goes into it. Example: You have to connect with an agency, and not just any agency, a good one with good integrity that has the high paying nanny positions. Sometimes, that can take weeks before you even get a response. From there, you apply with the agency, apply for a position they have listed, secure an interview with a placement coordinator, they submit you to the family you applied for, that family will then say yes or no they would like to interview you. If they say no, you do the process all over again. If they say yes, you then interview with that family virtually, do an in-person interview, (if the position is not local to you, they fly you out to where they live) then you either land the position or that family can hire someone else. And, if they hire someone else, you’re back applying for more positions. It really is a tedious and long process that can sometimes take months. You don’t want to work for just any family, regardless of how much they are going to pay you, it has to be the right fit for both you and the family. But, once you find your “forever family”, it’s a dream job come true. You can make up to $150K a year, some nannies make way more than that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I am a celebrity nanny primarily working with professional athletes. I specialize in the care of children whose parents have very public images. I have been a nanny for NBA players, MLB players, NFL players as well as, tech billionaires, and makeup company CEOs. A celebrity nanny is a very unique position because oftentimes we travel with the families and some nannies even live-in with their celebrity bosses. Our positions are unique not only because of the children we nanny for but because of the confidentially it entails. We are paid the high paying salaries because we keep the lives public figures, private. They are not just trusting us with their children but with their homes, their finances, and their personal business. I think what sets me apart from others is the that even though I am already in the celebrity nanny/high profile nanny world, I still want to see other nannies make it into this very lucrative nanny market, so I am able to help them land those high paying nanny positions by giving them the guidance, tips, tricks, and resources that I have collected throughout my journey.

How do you think about happiness?

What makes me the happiest? I have this joy but from two angles. One angle is from having a fulfilling career and being able to help my celebrity bosses bring a sense of peace and normalness into their very hectic and busy lives. Being able to be the calm for the children who also have very different lives from the majority of the world. That makes me happy.
From my business side, it makes me happy that I can help nannies and former educators get on the path to financial freedom. I’ve been on the side where making rent was tough. Where paying my bills was tough. Where living paycheck-to-paycheck would bring me to tears. I know that struggle of feeling defeated but wanting to still have a career that you love and enjoy.
