Today we’d like to introduce you to Joline Seavey
Hi Joline, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was blessed to grow up in an environment that taught me about and supported my spiritual growth and learning. My mom was always reading Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra and sharing her knowledge with me. So I feel that I have always been destined work support others on their journey.
I started off on the traditional path of going to college after high school and earned a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services with a minor in psychology. I worked for 18 years as a Licensed Social Worker in various aspects of human services ranging from pregnant and parenting teens, to geriatrics and then to adult mental health.
After that I studied Life Coaching and went on to earn a certificate as a Health Coach and worked in corporate America, mostly as a program manager and relationships manager. I very much enjoyed this work, but knew my heart was calling me to something bigger and better.
Three years ago I decided to leave corporate life and began working for myself as a Spiritual Empowerment Coach and I love every minute of it!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been fairly smooth in that I love my work and love my clients AND I’ve found it challenging to get the word out to the world to let folks know what I do and have to offer.
I worked with a business coach who was incredibly helpful in helping me see my business as a business and helped me learn what to focus on to grow.
She was so skilled at getting me over the barriers I was struggling with around being seen and showing up as my authentic self on social media. She also got me recording weekly blogs and meditations and sending out a regular newsletter. I finally started treating my business as a business and knowing how to show up in it. I had the client sessions and meditations down pat, but I hadn’t really know what else to do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Spiritual Empowerment Coach and meditation teacher, I specialize in helping people integrate what they have learned about spirituality into their day to day lives. Sometimes what we read or hear about sounds good, but there may be a gap between knowing it and living it. I help people close that gap.
I help people live their authentic lives. To learn how to tune into themselves and what is true for them and to live intentionally. I help them create the lives they’ve dreamt of.
I think I’m best known for my voice and my ability to support others in integrating their spirituality into their daily life.
In my work I offer one on one coaching sessions and lead meditations in various settings. Almost every single person who has experienced one of my meditations has commented on my voice. I’m not exactly sure what it is, but when I settle in “the voice” comes through and I get as much out of it as others.
One of the other things I offer is corporate meditations. I feel strongly that people working in corporate America need to be supported and offered the opportunity to take a meditation break during the week. People who’ve experienced this share that they feel so much more productive and centered after the meditation and that they look forward to it every week.
I’m most proud of watching my clients feel more peace in their lives and to learn the tools that they can use for the rest of their lives to come back to center if they feel that they’re getting “tossed around” by what’s happening for them.
What sets me apart from others is the sense of peace and relaxation I bring to my sessions. I hear a lot from folks that they feel so much more centered and peaceful when we’re together.
Any big plans?
I’ve run the back of the house for several conferences and love spending time in this arena and stretching myself in this way. I’d love to do more!
I had the opportunity this Spring to lead a meditation on stage in NYC for over 300 people. I would LOVE the opportunity to do more of this. It is so fulfilling to lead such large groups in centering themselves.
I’m also setting up some in person events. Most of the work I do has been virtual and I’m really feeling called to working with people in person as well.
And lastly, for now, I’m playing with putting together a course that takes all of my teachings and insights and puts them in one place for people to access.
