Today we’d like to introduce you to Jestine Mcclay

Hi Jestine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

My journey started once I finished highschool. I got interested in makeup when I was in my 20’s. Most girls get introduce to makeup a lot earlier but makeup wasn’t big at all in my household. All I seen was lip liner, lipgloss and mascara. But one day I seen a video on YouTube of someone doing their makeup and I was instantly hooked. I never thought that this would be my path and I can make a career out of being a makeup content creator. It completely changed my life and helped my come out my shell.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

The road has not been smooth but the struggle along the way only made me stronger. Learning makeup was all new to me so I was learning a lot on my own which comes with a lot of trials and mistakes. There were days where I was frustrated cause my makeup and content didn’t look like those I’ve seen. I went through a lot of comparisons and tears but it all lead me to where I am now. I learned that my journey is mines and how someone else does things doesn’t mean I have to do things the same way.

Makeup content creation involves producing videos, photos, or written content. It focuse on makeup techniques, products, and trends. This can include tutorials on applying makeup, product reviews, and beauty tips. Creators often share their expertise, demonstrate techniques, and provide recommendations to help their audience achieve specific looks or understand how to use products effectively. The content may be shared across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and many more. Connecting with viewers and building a following in the beauty community is most important because these connections goes a long way.

What was your favorite childhood memory?

My favorite childhood memory would be is spending the summers at my Grandma house with my sister and my cousin. Those were the times when I was carefree. Those were the times when we would play outside all day; get money from my Grandma coin can to buy as many waterice as we wanted and just enjoy our times as kids. Playing outside all day and staying up late all night just a time I won’t forget.
