Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica “Cha Cha” Tanselle.
Hi Jessica “Cha Cha”, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into spirituality really began in 2009 when I received my first Mediumship message. I was taking a shower when a deceased loved one talked to me and asked me to deliver a message to my mom. The timing of the message was about 8 months prior to her passing. In 2016, I started studying with wonderful mentors in Louisville, KY; Lily Dale, NY; and at Arthur Findlay College of Psychic Sciences in England to understand and develop my gifts as a psychic, medium, and healer. I began my own business offering spiritual guidance to many across the world.
Through the growth of my business, I found myself struggling with depression and anxiety. I wasn’t feeling happy or fulfilled. I was feeling stuck in life and somewhat miserable. I started to see information circling into my awareness about Plant Medicine for healing purposes. I was listening to podcasts and hearing it from friends. The signs were definitely around me and this felt like a really powerful option to help me.
In 2019, the opportunity was finally in front of me. I went to an overnight women’s retreat with a few people I knew and a couple people that were new to me. During this retreat I sat with psilocybin and I felt my worries, doubts, and fears melt away. I felt freer than I have felt in my life. It was at that moment, as I lay on the ground staring up at the stars, that I realized that my clients need this type of healing.
It was only a few months later that I started hosting retreats side by side with my mentor. I also spent time doing my own personal work journeying with plant medicines. I was able to build relationships with the plants, sit with other shamanic teachers, and dig deep into my own healing journey so that I could hold space for others ready to explore plant medicine.
As a Medicine Woman, Ceremony Facilitator, and Shamanic Healer with years of experience in guiding spiritual awakenings, I create sacred spaces for individuals and groups to heal, release trauma, and unlock their fullest potential. I specialize in plant medicine, ceremonial cacao, conscious breathwork, channeling, and Shamanic practices, facilitating profound transformations by helping others clear energetic blockages, reconnect with their intuition, and align with their soul by becoming their own healer and coming home to their heart.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Embarking on a healing journey and holding space for others definitely comes with its challenges. However, it’s crucial for leaders to do their own personal work to be able to support others effectively.
I’ve often found that before a retreat or session, I’d be going through my own healing, especially when a client was facing a similar process. I’d find myself confronting the depths of my own shadows, grounding my energy as I helped a client navigate something akin to what I was working through. Staying grounded in these moments can be tough. You have to set your own stuff aside to truly hold space for others. While I draw on the wisdom of my personal experiences, I also ask spirit to guide me and move me out of the way so I can fully support the soul in front of me.
Healing often involves uncovering repressed emotions that need to be felt and witnessed in order to heal. It may also mean nurturing and reintegrating parts of myself I’ve left behind. I spent two years deeply immersed in my own healing process, learning to integrate intense emotions and younger aspects of myself back into my life. During this time, I found myself needing to isolate and protect my energy, taking time to rest and rejuvenate so I could step into the fullness of my purpose as a Medicine Woman.
A spiritual journey is rarely a smooth path. It feels like a roller coaster at times. One day, you might feel like your high priestess self, and the next, you’re experiencing the vulnerability of your four-year-old self trying to navigate the journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in guiding deep, transformative healing experiences through a combination of plant medicine, ceremonial cacao, conscious breathwork, channeling, and Shamanic practices. I create safe, sacred spaces where individuals can clear energetic blockages, reconnect with their intuition, and align with their soul’s true purpose. What sets me apart is my ability to craft deeply personalized experiences that incorporate psychic guidance, energy healing, and sacred rituals, tailored to each person’s unique path.
I’m most well-known for my community circles, which I lead 1-2 times a month. These circles offer a powerful blend of intention-setting, energy healing, conscious breathwork, sound and music activation, and a share circle. They’ve become a space where the community can witness each other’s healing processes, fostering deep connections and support. These circles have helped many awaken, heal, and connect with others, and it’s truly been an honor to hold space for these powerful moments of transformation.
What I’m most proud of is helping others awaken to their own inner wisdom and step into their fullest potential by becoming their own healers. I’m passionate about empowering people to reconnect with their hearts and embrace their authentic selves. My work goes beyond healing—it’s about facilitating profound, lasting transformations that allow individuals to rediscover who they truly are and navigate life with more joy and purpose.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you’re just beginning your healing journey, be patient with yourself and resist the urge to rush the process. It’s common for people to want healing to happen all at once, to wish they could check it off and move on. But healing is a journey, not a race. There are many layers of your being and experiences that will need attention as you awaken and heal.
As you start, trust that the process will unfold in its own time. I recommend asking for grace and ease as you embark on this journey. Your mind, body, and soul will begin processing deep-seated emotions and experiences that have been stored within you over a lifetime.
Rushing this process can overwhelm your system. Uncovering parts of yourself that need to be heard, nurtured, or celebrated, along with recovering memories and traumas, can be a heavy mental load. Taking it all in at once can overload your mind and spirit.
Instead, be patient. Journal about what’s coming up for you, meditate, focus on your breath, and stay attuned to signs or messages from your soul. Move your body to release and integrate the energy. Ask for support from a spiritual guide or therapist. Allow your healing journey to be a continual process that evolves with time.
I believe our healing journey doesn’t end until we leave this earth—and even then, the healing continues as our soul transitions. Healing isn’t linear; it’s cyclical. Some things may be addressed and resolved, while other traumas may resurface each year, inviting us to heal more deeply. Trust the process, and know that it’s okay to take it one step at a time.
