Today we’d like to introduce you to James Quinn

Hi James , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

I started acting early in grade school with some school plays. I didn’t really get the bug for film acting until after high school. I started doing background work for Hollywood productions, and commercials which led to me doing some work shops and taking classes.

I really began to find my groove with the rise of independent film. That’s where I have really cut my teeth, and made my name. I have been in both Hollywood, & Independent productions for quite a few years now. I love walking in both worlds as it allows me to stay fresh, and make any necessary adjustments to my craft.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

Nothing worth obtaining ever goes completely smooth. I have hit obstacles along the way. You have periods of time where it just seems you can’t get any work. Sometimes you feel like an agent isn’t pushing your name out there as hard as they could, while you know you’re giving your all every day. I have learned to market myself for work. No one is going to sell you to the public better than you can. I always try to let my body of work be my selling point to potential productions. When onset I always try to have a positive all business approach.

You have to prove yourself every time you step onto a new set. That’s ok because it keeps you hungry. Sometimes people type cast you and have no idea of your range. You have to prove them wrong every chance you get. Have a no stop work ethic. Make sure they can’t forget you. Leave your mark.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I am an actor, writer, & director from Pittsburgh PA. I think of myself as an actor first and foremost as it my true passion. I am known for such films and tv shows as Mayor Of Kingstown, One Dollar, Checkmate, SANDMAN, The 12th Letter, The Boonies No Knock List, & Who Do You Say I Am?
I am most proud of my work on SANDMAN as it is loosely based on my own life and is as close as I will probably ever come to playing myself in film.
