Today we’d like to introduce you to Jai Surles
Hi Jai , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started acting in high school not taking it serious and focusing on sports. I was in a dark place towards senior year not knowing what I wanted to pursue in my life and my acting teacher Miss Andrea K inspired me to pursue acting and from then on I have never looked back and I have been professionally acting for about 8 years still pursuing it as my career choice and waiting for the right agent to really have my career take off
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been smooth I mean nothing is. If it was easy then the reward wouldn’t feel the same. There’s a lot of rejection, a lot of down time, and moments you wish everything was going your way, but as artists we have to take that in and use it as fuel to benefit us for our next role no matter how big or small it is. There’s no right way or path on this journey all that matters is that you never give up. A lazy man gets what he deserves, and a persistent man gets what he wants- Jonathan M Corbitt my best friend taught me that. Amazing talent
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an actor first I have studied acting, I live and breathe it and it will always be my first choice. When one door opens, multiple doors do as well, I make music for J.corbitt you can find him on all streaming platforms I am his bass guitarist and sometimes featured singer on his songs. I play piano, I sing and write my own music and you can find me on all streaming platforms at jai czar! I am most proud of how out of my class in high school I’m the only one who’s pursuing it as a career and traveling to different places to really explore and be the best I can be. What sets me apart from other s is my outgoing personality and my drive to never give up. I will not stop chasing this dream unless I physically cannot breathe to do so
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Your attitude! People want to work with people who are easy to work with, but also genuine people. Always be yourself, but work hard at the same time. But mainly your attitude, it will take you places you never thought you could go
