Today we’d like to introduce you to George Moss

Hi George, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

I began my creative journey by drawing at the age of 6 years old, I enjoyed creating cartoon art and realistic art through my elementary and high school years. After I graduated college, I landed my first corporate job working as a technical illustrator at Perry Ellis International where I started my career in the fashion industry. While working at several different fashion companies, I learned how to work with a team, technically design fashion & accessories, communicate with factories, and manage many responsibilities at the same time. These experiences improved my creative skills, allowed me to form life-long friendships, and developed character of learning how to love people regardless of how I was treated.

While working in the industry, I started my family-owned company, Gmoss Designs, LLC. Our company serves clients through illustration, graphic design, fashion technical design, and we inspire youth and adults to create their own line of original products through our workshop, FASHION TO COMICS™. Gmoss Designs, LLC also sell my line of art, clothing, accessories, novels, and comics based on my original Sci-Fi, Hip Hop, Anime inspired story, THE CHRONICLES OF ANN & LO™.

In 2022, we add another component to Gmoss Designs, LLC. We began hosting creative events, BEYOND COMICON AND ARTIST’S & AUTHOR’S JOURNEY™, in North Miami Beach. Our goal is to give independent creators an affordable platform to sell their work, make connections, and to encourage people of all ages to create their original work while helping their community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

It has not been a smooth road. As a fashion technical design and illustration company, at times our services with clients would slow down. Financially, things became very tough and we have challenges that try to stop the success of our events. By God’s (Christ Jesus) grace, we are overcoming these challenges. Our kind hearted friends joined us in support of our events and they believe in our vision. Also, we serve our clients through completing all types of freelance assignments while working 100% to help them attract new clients. We also taught our Fashion To Comics™ workshop to encourage the next generation of creators, and we create/sell our original products.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Through Gmoss Designs, LLC, I create 2d & realistic illustrations, Fashion Technical Designs for clothing companies, and teach our Fashion To Comics™ workshop to encourage youth and adults to create their own ideas into fashion designs, accessories, novels, comics, and etc. I specialize in creating technical packages for clothing companies or clients who need instructions made for a manufacturer. I am known for creating original art designs, urban fashion, and encouraging people to promote and create their own work. I am most proud of my parents who have always been an encouragement to me and my work, and they also encourage the creative and comic book convention community. I believe what sets me apart is creating original works which is inspired from my background (my culture, up bringing, life experiences, and seeking my purpose in Christ Jesus).

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?

I enjoy having great conversations with people of different cultures within the creative community. The thing I like least about our city is seeing crime. If people would focus on their eternal purpose, instead of doing the wrong thing, they would be able to learn how to create and sell unique works that can inspire to become creators as well.
